The Boathouse Unique and Classic
We really enjoyed this exchange, the boathouse is unique and classic. Very quiet and relaxing area, prime waterfront, swim and kayak off the jetty. This home has all you need and is a great launch pad for the area. We explored the Hunter Valley, Newcastle and beaches, Norah Head and trained it to Sydney for the night. Its close to Toronto for shopping and dining. John and Marg are lovely people and were great guests at our place. Communication was great and we met for coffee prior to the exchange. Would be happy the repeat in the future.

100 year old Boathouse completely renovated in to an ultra modern compact home with all the amenities, including it's own Sea wall and Jetty, 6 Palm Trees,parrot boxes, amazing bird life all around you, synthetic lawn and total privacy in a quiet Cul de sac. Located on a beautiful salt water lake 3 times the size of Sydney Harbour and only just over an hour away on the M.1 motorway - half an hour from Newcastle with it's amazing surf beaches and lovely working port and 2 hours from lovely Port Stephens.Also within an hour's drive of the world famous Hunter Valley Vineyards. Equitable warm climate.

This is a lovely part of the world with not only the 'Big City Life' and tourist attractions of Sydney and Newcastle's beaches and eateries 1-2 hours away by train or car, but also the great Hunter Valley Vineyards just down the road and Lake Macquarie only a couple of meters from your 'back door', where you can fish, swim or go canoeing in our sit-on kayaks off your own jetty all year around in beautiful clear and clean water.
Locally we have excellent stylish shops, 7 local licensed clubs with excellent reasonably priced restaurants, plus many sporting venues all within easy reach, including 2 great golf courses only 10/20 minutes away.
You will find the location TOTALLY UNIQUE and you will have an Aussie HOLIDAY OF A LIFETIME!

We have 2 golf courses, 7 Registered Clubs / Restaurants, sports fields and many walks nearby, besides all the lake has to offer at any time of the year, due to our very mild and temperate climate when compared with most of Europe and America.
The wonderful thing about our absolute waterfront location is you could literally spend every day, just relaxing on the balcony and watching the 'world go by' if that's what you want - there are always boats going in and out of 'Secret Bay' whether they be small 'tinnies', yachts, kayaks, fishing boats or big cruisers? Also the wildlife is very special with many different parrot species spending all year here including Cockatoos, Galahs, Rosellas, Corellas etc - we have lived here for nearly 15 years and the same pair of Galahs have nested every year in our big nesting box that is literally only about 4 meters from our balcony and we have had the privilege to watch them from mating right through to their babies first attempts at flight! Pelicans and Egrets are feet away.

Our Boutique home is always immaculate as it is so easy to keep clean, with polished floors and rugs and being quite compact it is easy to keep clean - we expect our guests to keep it in this condition for our return.
The garden is also small and the lawn is synthetic, so we expect our few plants, pots and baskets to be watered and the place to be tidy.
