Leaving the Florida sun to find the gray of Paris was not done without sadness.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Jorie and Ricks home in Pompano Beach. Their quirky house was extremely comfortable and charming and we really enjoyed the swimming pool for relaxing and cooling off. We enjoyed exploring the areas around their home, especially the ritzy homes we saw on the boat tour and driving around surrounding suburbs of Fort Lauderdale. The beaches were very inviting but busy as it was the middle of summer when we visited. Also managed some overnight trips to Key West and Orlando (Cape Canaveral Space Centre was a highlight). Their home is well placed for supermarkets, shopping and restaurants which was very convenient. Although we didn't get to meet Jorie and Rick we communicated easily by email and the whole exchange experience worked very smoothly. We would definitely recommend an exchange with Jorie and Rick if you'd like to experience this part of Florida.
