We are located in a small spread out village of Barcaldine. There is a local shop 3miles away also a bar/restaurant. In the next village of Appin 4 miles away there is The Old Inn where you can enjoy some beautiful Highland cattle steak or local seafood. The town of Oban which is 11 miles away has a selection of bars and restaurants, several supermarkets, selection of shops, the leisure centre with swimming pool and gym. The ferry terminal (known as the gateway to the isles) is also in Oban where you can take a ferry to the surrounding Islands. The train station is also in Oban where you can take the train to the City of Glasgow with links to Edinburgh. The Nevis mountain range is around an hours drive from the house, here you can go skiing, walking or mountain biking. The Glencoe mountain range is about 45min drive from the house, also for skiing, sledding or walking. The Hollytree Hotel, 15min drive from the house has a lovely swimming pool, sauna and hot tub with beautiful views out over Loch Linnhe. There is also a nice bar and restaurant all available to the public.
