Westfield Shopping Centre Stratford, this is one of the biggest shopping centres in Europe. It is accessible by train 2 stops (3mins) or bus (10mins). Stratford has a Theatre, local market and of course the Olympic Park. The West End and it’s shops, galleries, museums are easily accessible from Forest Gate.
Forest Gate has a local farmers market on Saturdays, also selling crafts, books etc. There are a number of Supermarkets, small shops, craft beer bars, pubs and pharmacies nearby. There are local parks within 5 minutes of the house, also running clubs, yoga studios and football clubs. It is a nice friendly area with a great sense of community. Lots of events happen locally throughout the year such as Music by different groups, street festivals, Art classes and Open Nights for viewing Art or Open Mike nights for music, poetry and Spoken Word performances. Forest Gate also houses West Ham Park, providing a place for sports (tennis) to be played. 5 minutes walk from our house we have Wanstead Flats, which has numerous football pitches and areas set aside for bio-diversity, cycling and walking.
