We have only just moved into this house and we are now in the middle of refurbishment. It will take us at least until the end of this year to complete the first phase. We hope to complete the second phase next year.

We already have an exchange scheduled for early 2023 and unfortunately we won't be in a position to agree another until 2024.

Our home is currently a 3 bedroom detached chalet house in West Hove, but it will soon become a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom house. The upstairs will have a master bedroom with ensuite whilst the second bedroom will use the existing "family" bathroom.

Downstairs is a large open plan area, with sitting, dining, kitchen and a sun room all benefiting from a very light and airy layout.

We have a fairly large back garden given over mostly to lawn and flower, but it will be redesigned at some stage. It's east facing, which means the morning sun in the sun room, and is quite private.

Our home is less than 10 minutes walk from the beach in Hove. Shops are available at a number of near locations within 10 minutes and pubs are plentiful. There is one at the top of our street with a lovely garden.

Its about a 45 minute walk to the centre of Brighton. There are numerous bus routes pass very close the house giving easy access to the city centre. Our nearest railway station is Portslade with a less than 10 minute ride into Brighton or a little more than an hour to London.

We have recently moved from another house in Hove but this seems to be an equally friendly neighbourhood. Although urban, the street is quiet as it is not a cut through to anywhere.

Våra tips om platser att gå och saker att göra när du bor i vårt hem

Cafes and restaurants from just about anywhere in the world are accessible on foot and Brighton, with world renowned music, theatre and cinema, is only 45 minute walk or a 10 minute bus ride. It can also be driven but not many locals do! Glyndebourne, one of the world's premier opera houses is just half an hour away.

We are also within direct biking distance of the South Downs National Park and hundreds of miles of walking or biking trails are within a short drive. The sea, with opportunities for swimming, windsurfing etc is just down the road.

If you do want to ski in Europe, London Gatwick airport is only half an hour by train and from there Geneva and any number of European airports are only an hour or so away.

London, is just over an hour away by train, accessible directly from Portslade Station, which is only a 10 minute walk from our house.

Our house was built in 1927 and is detached. There is off-street parking. Our main request is that you keep noise to a reasonable level, especially late at night. The only thing we absolutely forbid is smoking - we really hate the smell! Other than that we just ask that you treat our house with respect and that it is much the same as we left it when we return. We would expect to do the same for any house we occupy.
