I am Evelyn (meanwhile early retired from business consulting) from Germany. I have made La Palma (Canary Islands) my new home. Usually I travel with friends or my grown up kids. I have two well educated dogs and I would enjoy pet care (I've already had horses, dogs, cats and fish included in my exchanges). For me, home exchange is not only a cheap way of traveling but the best way to come to know the country and its people. I am an experienced exchanger and will treat your home with the care and respect that I expect you to show to mine. As of 2022 I've accomplished 50 - all very positive - home exchanges.

Only available for exchange with dog sitting (2 well behaved dogs) for 5 weeks from mid December to mid January to warm places (Caribbean, Asia, Africa...).
The large Casa Arte Cuadrato is a Colonial stile house with high ceilings which has been outfitted by an artist and contains many original features from the 1920ies. The two bedrooms and the living room have wonderful sea view. The center of the house is the dining area with a wood fired oven and the kitchen. The bathroom has also antique appliances and a small shower. The large conservatory is nice for a breakfast with morning sun. There is also a second table with space for computer work etc. From here you can get to the second toilette and a storage room. From the hall you can enter the huge terrace, also with wonderful views of the sea and the islands of Tenerife, La Gomera and El Hierro. Around the house there is a an extended garden which is not fenced.
Attention: There are some stairs to climb to the entrance of the house. There is a second house on the property

The house is situated in Fuencaliente 700m north-east of the village Los Canarios which you can also reach by a foot path. In Los Canarios you will find nice restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries, banks, bars, a tourist office, bodegas, and many retailers. On the road you can catch the bus to Santa Cruz. In about 15 mins. you will reach many different beaches and in the south you will find two light houses and salines. There are several nice walks right from the house. Santa Cruz, the capital is about 35 mins. and the airport 25 mins. away by car.

The island is a dream for walkers and people interested in volcanoes and the history of the earth. Just below the village you will find two volcanoes (from 1677 and 1971). As the island is very small you can explore it quite easily.
