You can kayak straight off the front lawn. As well, the house is 5 minutes' drive from one of New Zealand's most famous surf beaches, offering 4 unbroken kms of golden sand. It's also a stone's throw from mountain biking trails, waterfall and forest hikes and less than one hour's drive to the hot springs that bubble up in the sand at Hot Water Beach. There are dozens of other beaches within a short drive.
