In the city centre of Toulouse (15 min by bus, 25 min walk), you may visit the roman basilic, many traditional red bricks buildings with private courtyards, the Capitole Plaza and many other monuments, or simply enjoy walking in the city and along the banks of the Garonne river. There are good theaters, museums (including a museum of air and space) and an excellent opera house. Several festivals take place outdoors in the summer. From Toulouse you can visit a lot of famous places in the region (Cahors, Albi), discover nice countryside and vineyards. You can also reach the Mediterranean seaside and the Pyrénées mountains within less than 2 jours drive, or by train.
