If you close the windows, you are not disturbed by the occasional car passing at night. The beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is spacious (by Parisian standards) and well-stocked. But most of all...location, location, location. Rue de Tournon is a quiet street but mere steps from the Luxembourg Gardens and the Odeon, and a short walk to anywhere in the St Germain and Latin Quarter. This is what you come to Paris for. One thing I would point out is that the apartment is a two and a half story walk-up, with no elevator. This is probably common in the older buildings of this area (a plaque outside said that John Paul Jones died there!), and it was no problem for us (we're sixty-one and fifty-five) but people who have a problem with stairs should be aware of it. Jean is a very gracious and responsive host. When we told him the refrigerator died, a new one appeared the very next day, and it was a weekend! He could not be nicer, and he returned our home in immaculate condition. It was a great experience. I highly recommend this exchange.
