Architectural award winning home in 5 acres of duneland overlooking the sea and Kapiti Island. 2 double bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. Huge decks, and covered verandahs, all with sea or rolling inland views. Large potager, organically managed, with seasonal fruit and vegetables, and a wonderful sitting area, above the house, to watch the sun go down with a glass of wine.

PekaPeka is a small seaside settlement, with views both to the sea on one side and the surrounding hills and mountain ranges on the other. There is a very efficient train service into Wellington, our capital city, and the train takes exactly an hour. There are many beautiful walks in the area, wonderful beaches, and then all the attractions of the city of Wellington, theatre, opera, galleries, and very good restaurants.
Wellington gives easy access to the South Island. One can easily fly from Wellington, or take the inter-island ferry, either as a foot passenger, or taking a car.

Våra tips om platser att gå och saker att göra när du bor i vårt hem
The house is in open country, but a short drive from several lively beach cafes. One can take a day trip by boat to Kapiti Island, where kiwis can be seen. There are many beautiful native bush walks, and almost the best thing is to stay at home and watch the sun go down over the island from our sit-ooterie ( a term for a Scottish drinks hut).
It is easy to go to the South Island from Wellington, and quite possible for a day trip, or of course, longer. If your interest is skiing, there are wonderful ski fields at Mt Ruapehu, just 4 hours drive away, and also trout fishing at Lake Taupo, in the same area.

I am a single professional woman, a New Zealander by birth, and have lived in the UK for most of my adult life. 3 years ago, I returned to new Zealand to build a house and create a very special garden. I like to return to Europe and the UK most years, but in the Northern Hemisphere summer, although I can be flexible on this.
