XIXth century stone house in a small village, 3 floors, 3 bedrooms including a very large master bedromm, fireplace, large garden. 15kms from the Champagne region, 40kms from Reims.Our country house is in the village of Jouaignes, about 85 miles from Paris (an hour and a half by car) and 25 miles from the cathedral cities of Reims (to the east) and Laon (north). The house was built around 1870. It has thick limestone walls and is pleasantly cool in summer. It has a large, farmhouse-style kitchen and living are downstairs. We have two bedrooms about 450 sq feet each and two others of 320 sq feet, and a downstairs bathroom. We also have a barn where we stock bicycles and garden equipment. Sylvie has added a few photos including one of me in the garden with an old bath tub that has since disappeared. The shops are in a nearby village called Braine, about four miles away. We have a garden and a copse beyond it leading to a stream; the entire land is about half an acre.
