Our French (holiday) home is located in Beaucaire, a small lively town with bars and good restaurants in the middle of roman provence. Beaucaire also has a large indoor municipal swimming pool open all the year round. There are also lovely outdoor municipal pools within 10 klms open from around June until September. Beaucaire is located adjacent to the River Rhone and the Sete/Rhone canal. On the opposite side of the river is the town of Tarascon.
Our home which is on foundations dating back 400 years is full of character with wooden beams and stone walls; is on three levels, is situated in the old quarter in a narrow street, comprises a garage, two bathrooms, kitchen/dining area, living room with (satelite) TV, two bedrooms - one double and the other two single beds, and a roof top terrace. The house benefits from gas central heating and all the usual facilities. However because of the of the number of floors it may not be suitable for the very young, elderly or infirm.
