• A wonderful exchange -- great home and hosts!

  This was our first exchange and it was absolutely magnificent! From beginning to end, Maria and Cuco helped us prepare for our trip to Spain and welcomed us to Guadalajara as if we were family. The home was extremely comfortable, just as shown in the photos, and very spacious. Our two kids were happy to get their own rooms, and we were pleased to have such a lovely private terrace to have breakfast. But what truly made the exchange an unforgettable experience was the hospitality of Maria and Cuco, they picked us up from the airport, took us to the home, had a kitchen full of food ready because they knew our young kids would be hungry after a long journey from the US -- it was all so warm and welcoming. The home was stocked with everything we wanted and more, and there was plenty of space for our belongings. The town of Guadalajara is about 45 min from Madrid, but it is much more than than an outpost from Madrid and we absolutely loved the town itself. Very walkable, great restaurants, and full of friendly people. Our kids loved all of the playgrounds and enjoyed exploring away from the big city. But what made this experience so wonderful was really Maria and Cuco -- they are just wonderful hosts all around. They invited us over to their house, just outside of town, for dinner one night, where our kids played with their grandkids and we got to meet lots of their family members. It felt like a gift to be part of their wonderful family for one night! The whole exchange was above and beyond what we ever expected, thank you again Maria and Cuco!

  L'appartement de Maria et Cuco est idéalement situé près du centre ville. Il est doté d'une grande terrasse fort appréciable pour y prendre le petit déjeuner et le déjeuner. Nous avons pu facilement nous rendre à Madrid, Tolède, et autre villes et villages fort jolis, comme Alcala de Henares. Nous avons eu le plaisir de rencontrer nos échangeurs avant leur départ, qui se sont montrés très attentionnés. Notre retour chez nous a été plein de bonnes surprises : cadeaux divers, maison toute propre, linge lavé (y compris le notre). Merci encore à eux d'avoir permis cet excellent échange.

• Wonderful hosts and Exchange

  Maria and Cuco are such a warm and welcoming couple. They met us on arrival and showed us around their lovely apartment. Their fridge was stacked with lovely fresh provisions for us. They joined us in a glass of delicious Spanish wine, offered us advice on areas to visit and answered our many questions, before leaving us to our own devices. We were delighted to join them again to attend a music concert in a neighbouring village. That was such a fun night! The apartment was spacious, very clean and comfortable. It was a lovely15 walk into the old town of Guadalajara where there were some nice coffee shops and outdoor dining options. A 15 minute walk in the opposite direction brings you to a large modern shopping centre. There was also a local bus stop near to the apartment where you could get a bus to the main bus and train stations. From here there are great options to visit beautiful old towns in the vicinity. Thank you Maria and Cuco for such a lovely exchange experience.

• Un séjour de rêve en Castille

  Nous remercions chaleureusement Maria et Cuco pour les merveilleux moments passés ensemble lors de notre arrivée. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié leur gentillesse et leur générosité. Leur appartement est vaste, confortable et bien situé dans la ville de Guadalajara. Leur grande terrasse avec vue sur les collines lointaines nous a permis d'agréables petits déjeuners ou des diners tardifs.Tous les commerces et le centre ville sont proches. Nous avons beaucoup aimé flâner le soir dans les beaux parcs de Guadalajara et passer de bons moments en terrasse à déguster des spécialités locales. La région est riche de petits villages aux belles églises Romano gothiques et aux châteaux en ruines, parfois restaurés. Nous avons pu aller deux fois à Madrid située à 50 kilomètres( Le dimanche, pas de circulation et stationnement aisé). Nous avons également visité Tolède ( Un peu plus d'une heure de route.) D'autres villes magnifiques comme Siguenza et Alcala de Hénarès sont très proches. A une heure de route, il y a également des lacs au milieu des montagnes permettant une pause rafraichissante dans la chaleur de l'été. Nous avons été totalement conquis par cette belle région et le mode de vie Espagnol, si convivial. Ce fut un échange parfait et nous sommes très reconnaissants à Maria et Cuco de nous avoir permis de le vivre. Nous garderons un merveilleux souvenir de ce mois d'août et nous sommes enchantés d'avoir de nouveaux amis Espagnols. Hélène et Alain

• Great location with loads of room

  Thank you both so much so our exchange in 2019. There was so much room for us in this large home, although some of the kitchen and laundry facilities (washing machine; microwave; kitchen tap) were hard for us to understand without further written instructions. We know that you would have been of great help with these things if you were not traveling at the same time. We really enjoyed Guadalajara, especially the wealth of beautifully preserved historical buildings. It was so easy to get to Madrid, and with a tourist information center at Attocha station we could easily get more information for our 2 Madrid day trips including a useful walking map of many highlights.   We hebben genoten van ons verblijf in het appartement. Madrid met zijn schitterende musea was maar 1,5 uur reizen weg. Heerlijk afscheidsmaaltijd genoten bij onze hartelijke gastvrouw en gastheer en hun vrienden. We hopen jullie snel in Berlijn te mogen ontvangen!

  What a warm welcome we received when we arrived in Guadalajara. There was enough food left for us to last a few days, the home was clean and well equipped. The best part was having a chance to enjoy a meal with Maria, Cuco, and their family. Thank you, Gracias, Merci. Dan, Steve, and Rick
