Our close neighbourhood is a village-like area, with plenty of shops within 2 minutes walk (including a delicious bakery with divine "croissants". it is a very lively district and our home is in a very quiet parallel street.
Our leisure time in Paris is split between visits of the city, museums & cinemas, music... the main issue it that there are too many possibilities!
To access Paris, the best is to use public transport, which are cheap and very effective. From our house, you will need 5 minutes to walk to the train station and the train takes 9 minutes to ride to central Paris (Gare Saint Lazare / Opera / department store area). 30' altogether to go to "Notre Dame" cathedral or 35' to reach the Eiffel tower.
We have discovered recently guided tours in the city of which a tour of Montmartre area connected to film shootings (an American in Paris, Inception, Taken, Amélie Poulain....).
We also have a small car, possible for an exchange if you want to visits the surroundings.
