We're a family of 4, originally from Australia: two international school teachers and our two boys. We have been in Beijing for a while now and love it here but also appreciate the opportunity to get out of town during the main breaks. Scott's a high school coordinator/musician and Karen an elementary school teacher and the boys are into sport, music...and Minecraft!

Beschrijving van het huis dat wij aanbieden voor ruil
If you're not familiar with Beijing, it's very easy to catch the airport express to Dongzhimen (it only has two stops and we're the second one) and we're about 1.5km away. In a taxi, we're right by the Holiday Inn Dongzhimen - straight in the airport expressway and you're here in about 1/2 hour.
We have two sons in elementary school so have pay TV, games, books, toys & bunkbeds. Very comfortable KS master bed plus a quality innerspring sofa bed in the study. Kitchen is well equipped, including Delonghi espresso machine and living area is well furnished. Best of all, we have a pressurised air filtration system if you're unlucky enough to be here on one of those notoriously polluted days.

To get out and about we're walking distance to Workers' Stadium, Sanlitun shopping and eating precinct, the main embassy area (beautiful, tree-lined quiet streets) and the Liangma River which is a great place to stroll along and soak up life in this city.

Onze tips voor leuke activiteiten en uitjes bij ons in de buurt
Our neighbourhood is a pretty traditional local neighbourhood (ie you can walk down the street and get dumplings at a street vendor) but a block the other way and you're in the heart of Sanlitun, where most of the best restaurants and bars can be found. The supermarket downstairs is well equipped and across the road you'll find a French Butcher and bakery, Cannons burgers, O'Steak restaurant etc etc. There's a very reasonably priced, good quality Beijing Duck place around the corner and Great Leap craft brewery (a local institution) half a block away. You won't go hungry!
