The city of Mission is located in the picturesque Fraser Valley of B.C. Our community of Mission, situated along the Fraser River, and amidst low lying mountains and West coast forests, has a mainstreet with many cafes and interesting shops within a 6 minute drive. From our house there are several excellent hiking trails through westcoast forests and mountains from easy to more difficult. We are surrounded by other communities within a 30 minute drive that each have their own character. Fort Langley is a popular local community with great biking trails and a lively downtown core. Chilliwack is nestled with a backdrop of gorgeous mountains, numerous crystal clear lakes, and a small historic shopping area. There are many wineries located within 30 minutes of our home in the Fraser Valley. Mission is a 15 minute drive from the Canada/USA border. The city of Seattle, USA is a 2 1/2 hour drive. From our house, you are a 50 minute drive from downtown Vancouver in non-rush hour times. Vancouver is a beautiful city with lots of shopping, entertainment and outdoor opportunities, like Stanley Park, and the Granville Island Market. There is commuter rail available from Mission to Vancouver Monday to Friday. The world famous ski/golf, outdoor enthusiast, resort of Whistler is a 3 hour scenic drive with spectacular ocean views and mountainous terrain. It is possible to make a day trip to visit Victoria on Vancouver Island on BC ferries either as a walk on or taking a car. Travelling to our area can be done through Vancouver International Airport which is 1 hour and 15 minutes away or Abbotsford International Airport which is 20 minutes away. While our location is central to so many attractions, we are not located in Vancouver and a car is necessary to travel from our home. We often exchange vehicles. on our exchanges.
