Winter activities close by:
-downhill skiing: the Jura resorts are the closest, the most affordable and great for kids, but the Alps are an easy day trip as well, about 1hr drive to the main resorts like Portes du Soleil, Verbier 4 Vallées, etc
-cross country skiing, snowshoeing (great trails accessible by public transport or car from the house)
-skating either on natural or artificial ice

Summer activities close by:
-the Tolochenaz beach is a 10 min. walk from the house. Many other beaches on Lake Geneva are a short drive away (e.g. sandy beach of Preverenges). Also many outdoor pools with stunning views on the Lake and mountains (e.g. Morges swimming pool)
-a huge amount of cycling routes right at the door with low traffic and scenic views
-many hiking possibilities either in the Jura (short car ride or bus trip) or in the Alps (about 1hr)

All seasons:
There is a large of choice of restaurants/bars/cafés and many other Swiss tourist attractions (cheese factory and chocolate factory in Gruyere, city tours, mountain trains, etc...).
Lake Geneva hosts the UNO World Heritage site of "Lavaux" with jaw-dropping views of the lake and the surrounding mountains.
Immediately beside our house are apple orchards and vineyards, which make for lovely walks with mountain views.
Switzerland is also an important producer of wine but not for export, it is only for local consumption! There are many possibilities to go on wine tours and visit local wineries.
Geneva International Airport is just 30 minutes away, and from there you can also get to nearly any European city (Paris, Barcelona, London, etc) on low cost airlines (Easyjet, etc) or by train.
