We are Ian & Rosemary . We are both just retired. We love to be active, cycling, playing tennis, dog walking, swimming. I love to garden as well and Ian likes to make unusual pieces of woodwork. Our children are both now working so we are looking forward to doing house exchanges as mainly just the two of us and our little beagle who is extremely chilled and well behaved. She is now 4 and has been to France and Ireland with us and loves to come on our adventures. On the odd occasion our grown up children may want to join us.

Beschrijving van het huis dat wij aanbieden voor ruil
3 Bedroom House in a small village about 4 miles from York. We moved here 2 years ago and have renovated the whole house. We have a garden, patio and workshop. There is a butchers, coffee shop, hairdresser , newspaper shop and post office/corner shop within 5 minutes walk of the house. The bus for York stops outside the house.

Our neighbourhood is very friendly - all our neighbours are very friendly and helpful. We can access country walks from our house. It is a quiet area in a lovely village close to York. There are 4 pubs in the village 2 of which serve food. There are also two cafe's, shops, sports centre, library, doctors and dentist surgery. It is connected to York by bus and train and there is a park and ride very close to the village.

Onze tips voor leuke activiteiten en uitjes bij ons in de buurt
We are very close to York which is accessible by bus from outside our door and by train which is a short walk from the house. There are very good cycle routes all the way to the centre of York and also good walking paths. York is known as an historic City with Viking origins. It has many attractions for the visitor from a visit to the exceptional Minster to the Jorvik museum of Viking artefacts. A walk around the castle walls is a must and a trip along the river through York is a great introduction to the City. The old Shambles area of York will remind the visitor of Times past. The nearby village of Nun Monkton is like a film set of Old England - It is has the tallest Maypole in the UK and Cattle have free roaming on its extensive village green. There is a lovely pub called "The Alice Hawthorn" here which serves good food. The National Trust Property "Beningbrough" is a short drive or cycle . I work as a volunteer gardener in Beningbrough and it is a lovely place to visit. The house has portraits on loan from "The National Gallery" in London and the gardens are beautiful.
