Kathy and Arthur's cottage was well equipped and comfortable. Their generosity was evident in their welcome note and the local treats they left for us.
We explored widely - Rutland Water, Barnsdale Gardens, Belton, Bradgate, Burghley (which we really recommend for its Garden of Surprises and Sculpture Gardens), Ashby de la Zouch, Kedleston Hall. And we were very fortunate to have good weather apart from rain one afternoon.
We were delighted to discover a wonderful farm shop not far away - Great Dalby I think.
All in all we had a lovely time and wish to thank Kathy and Arthur for giving us this opportunity.
Jim and Fionnuala.
