This is a small house with a big dock on the Chesapeake Bay, 45 minutes from Capitol Hill. It can be a good harbor for those arriving by boat or someone who wants to fish, crab, or kayak over to the restaurants in Galesville. Chalk Point is a lovely, friendly, quiet peninsula on the West River, home to many interesting people. A short drive to Deale or Galesville, 20 minutes to Annapolis.

This area is on the Western Shore of the Bay, due East of the Capitol, so no need to contend with the beach traffic going over the Bay bridge to the Eastern Shore. Annapolis is 20 minutes away, a pleasant day trip. Fishing charters go out from Deale for those who want to try to catch rockfish or bluefish. The Captain Avery museum, Londontown, Chesapeake Beach, and other low key attractions are in the area. The little town of Galesville can be reached by kayak as easily as by car.

This is a much loved older house, we appreciate guests who treat it gently and leave it tidy. Neighbors are friendly and quiet: they will stay friendly if we are quiet too. While children are welcome, the waterfront location makes constant supervision by parents absolutely necessary. Pets are generally not allowed but exceptions can be made.
