We spent a week in your very comfortable appartment and went all around London. There are buses going straight to Central London and the tube just a walk away, as well as supermarkets and a huge shopping mall. Margaret gave us all the information needed to find the house without any problem and to feel good in the appartment. Everything worked out very well and we loved this place :-) We also found our own appartment in Berlin in perfect condition when we came back. All in all, a very positive exchange experience. But the weather was just fine for us with the only problem of a hot day - in February! Your flat was always warm and welcoming to us at the end of each day's exploring the city and outlying towns. May I suggest an update of your information folder? Perhaps using some bolding, underlining or capitals for the different sections would help us find information more easily. Ons huis

Beschrijving van het huis dat wij aanbieden voor ruil

This is a modern first floor flat built 12 years ago in a mixed development. We use the property most months to enable us to go to the theatre, opera and art exhibitions. It is light and is well furnished. It is about a seven-minute walk to both a train and underground stations and similarly to a bus stop. A car is unnecessary but there are two car hire companies close by. In the Westfield Shopping Centre, there is a Marks & Spencers and a Waitrose for food shopping.
Also, Portobello Market is a fifteen-minute walk through some of the loveliest streets in London. Holland Park is a similar distance away with its formal gardens, tennis courts and in summer Opera under a canopy.

Beschrijving van onze buurt en omgeving

This area of west London is typical of the multicultural nature of the city. It is close to a major shopping centre (Westfield) and has easy access to both underground and bus services to all the major tourist sites of London including Theatres and Art Galleries. It is also convenient for the railway lines to Heathrow and Gatwick. There is a small park to the front of the apartment block, which faces south. To the rear is light industrial area for fashion and media companies.. Hunt Close is a no through road and in the main the area is quiet.

Onze tips voor leuke activiteiten en uitjes bij ons in de buurt

This is London; where does one begin? All the major tourist attractions are within a short tube or bus ride away. Closer to the apartment there is Portobello Market, famous for antiques and bric a brac but also a food market for residents. Holland Park has a Japanese Garden, a cafe and a restaurant and in summer Opera is performed under a canopy. A little further afield is Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park with its Palace, Cafe in the Orangery, the Diana Memorial Fountain and the Serpentine Cafe.
We are happy to provide information about other places to visit including some of the more unusual ones.
