We, Fons and I, Annelies, just retired and now we have time, we would like to travel and to exchange houses. We are both active, respectful and openminded people who like to go on new adventures. We have three grown up children who live indepentendly in Amsterdam.
Four years ago we moved into our current house, a comfortable house in the country side but still in the outskirts of vivid student city of Groningen. It's region (Drenthe) is know if known for it's beautiful and diverse nature (forests, moor, lakes, fields). Cyclng and walkingpath start within walking distance from the house. Sportsfacilities for swimming, sailing, mountainbiking, ice-skating in winter etc. are very close by too.
The house itself is detached, with a nice view and a large garden, in a small cosy village, 10 km at the south of the nice city of Groningen.
Groningen has al lot of cultural possibilities and there are lots of restaurants.
We have three children, living away from home, two dogs and eleven chickens.

Ons huis
Beschrijving van het huis dat wij aanbieden voor ruil
A comfortabel house with an excellent view and a lot of privacy in a quiet small village within a distance of 20 minutes by car of Groningen. Recreation: walking, biking, swiming ( Paterswoldsemeer ). Culture: musea Groningen, Assen (15 min). Large amount of restaurants etc. We would like you to care for the our nine chickens.
The house has a large, fully equipped kitchen, two different living areas (with one fire place) and a big terace wich can be used all year round (when the weather is nice). Furthermore the house has 3 seperate bedrooms, of which one is with a double bed and two rooms are with a single bed. For children more sleeping places are easily created.
There is also a seperate dependance with a mininmum of two sleeping places (double bed) and seperate bathroom and cuisenette. In this dependance a sauna is also present are usable on request.

Our neighbourhood is very quiet, (restaurant) and attractive for walking and cycling
to the city of Groningen ( 30 minutes) /Assen (45 minutes).
Nearest supermarkets are in Eelde/Paterswolde ( 3 km). Lake of Paterswolde (5 km) , Zuidlaarderlake ( 7 km)

Daytrips to Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam, Delft, The Hague is a possibility.
Schiermonnikoog, Zwolle ( museum Fundatie) and Leeuwarden ( Friesland) are nice to visit.
Daytrips to Germany, only half an hour drive of the german border, for instance Borkum, Münster, Oldenburg, Bremen are interesting.
