Stratford is a two-hour train ride or highway drive from Toronto, an hour from London or Kitchener/Waterloo. The Stratford Festival Theatre and the Stratford Summer Music Festival contribute to a wonderfully rich theatre and music season from May to November. There is a Chef's School in town, so the restaurants and cafes serve delicious food, there is plenty of art, and many beautiful parks to roam as well as walks along Victoria Lake with swans to feed and ducks to watch. The main street is a vibrant wonderful place to shop for special items, and there are also larger stores on the outside of town. Stratford is right in the middle of farm country, so fresh vegetables and other produce abound, available every Saturday morning at the market at the Rotary Complex.
