Sinds 1998 hebben we een 30-tal huisruilvakanties samen met onze 3 dochters beleefd. Omwille van hun hogere studies zijn we in 2013 gestopt met huisruilvakanties. Nu de dochters op eigen benen staan, willen we de draad met huisruilen opnieuw oppikken.
Since 2000 we have had about 30 home exchange holidays together with our 3 daughters. Because of their academic studies, we stopped home exchange holidays in 2013. Now that the girls are standing on their own two feet, we want to start home swapping again.
Depuis 2000, nous avons passé une trentaine de vacances en échange de maisons avec nos trois filles. En raison de leurs études, nous avons arrêté les vacances d'échange de maisons en 2013. Maintenant que les filles sont autonomes, nous voulons recommencer l'échange de maisons.
Seit dem Jahr 2000 haben wir zusammen mit unseren 3 Töchtern etwa 30 Haustausch-Ferien gemacht. Wegen ihres Studiums haben wir im Jahr 2013 den Haustauschurlaub eingestellt. Jetzt, wo die Töchter auf eigenen Füßen stehen, wollen wir wieder mit dem Haustausch anfangen.

Ons huis
Beschrijving van het huis dat wij aanbieden voor ruil
Our house is a former farmhouse (1904), located in a quiet neighbourhood. The house has been completely renovated and is equipped with all comforts. Beside the large backyard you can also enjoy the nice courtyard. Beside our house we can offer our second house on the same premises. This house is fully equipped and can be used for non-simultaneous exchange.
We are living in the so called Euregio. This makes it easy to visit parts of the Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg or even France.
In the immediate surroundings you can choose; the bicycle route network which is very famous and passes at 200 meters from our house, and enjoy the splendid landscape with its orchards, sloping landscape, square-farms, castles, etc.
Beside Bilzen the following cities are certainly worth a visit: Tongeren (oldest city of Belgium and an ancient Roman city.) - Hasselt (culture, one of the best shopping-cities of Belgium) - Genk (former mining town) - Liege (city on the French speaking side of Belgium.)
The border with the Netherlands, is at a10 minutes drivie from our house. Maastricht is waiting to be discovered. This ancient Roman city to the Meuse has splendid squares, streets, and is a great shopping city. If you want to drive a little further on, Aachen in Germany is only 30 minutes by car. Cologne is reachable within one hour and Luxemburg-city takes a two hours drive.
Worth mentioning is the fact that most people in our country and certainly in our region speak and understand of course Dutch, but also French, German and English.
