I'm a native New Orleanian and have returned, following retirement from San Francisco Public Health. My career was in medical social work as an LCSW. I love New Orleans and know it well. I will be traveling with another adult, although I live alone. This could be my friend Richard or my sister, or another friend. I love pets! I have a dog but she doesn't stay in the apartment I use for exchange.

I own a Victorian "shotgun double" and I live in one side. The other side, for exchanges, is a fully furnished 1 bedroom that sleeps 4. This is a wonderful location, 1 block from Mardi Gras parade routes, restaurants, shops, grocery store, and bus lines. One block from Magazine Street and easy walk to St. Charles Avenue. Lovely typical New Orleans front porch. Bike rentals available nearby.

From the apartment it is a block to Magazine Street where you will find shops, coffee houses, art galleries, bars (some with music) and restaurants. Tipitina's, a great music venue is 3 blocks away. The St. Charles Avenue street car is an easy walk. The Magazine bus and the street car take you to the French Quarter. Only 3 blocks to grocery. For Mardi Gras, parade route is just a block away.

It is important that I find my apartment neat and tidy when guests depart. I may be at home at the time you are staying in my apartment. Important to be respectful of neighbors, no noise after 10pm.
