John and I lived in the great city of Bristol for years and moved to Bradford-on-Avon in 2020. It has been amazing being able to get out of the city and having a garden, so we could get a dog.
Lisette has a busy job in software development and John is currently getting his undergraduate degree in Politics and International Relations.

Ons huis
Beschrijving van het huis dat wij aanbieden voor ruil
We absolutely love living in our gorgeous two bedroom, end-of-terrace Georgian house. It's made of Bath stone, has high ceilings, and is airy and modern inside. The house is a spacious two bedroom, with an enclosed front garden and a parking space.
*Lounge/dinner - the lounge offers a large sofa and dinning table large enough for 6 people. For nights in, we have a 1080p projector (with laptop) you can use and quality hi-fi sound system (including a number of vinyl records), or for a more chilled night the fireplace is a great and oh-so-cozy feature. We have a LOT of books, that you are welcome to peruse and read (but please leave them behind when you leave). We also have a few board games in case you need further entertaining. There is no TV, but you can use the laptop to access Netflix, Channel 4, BBC iplayer etc. We are happy for you to use our logins for that.
*Kitchen - the kitchen has an induction hob, electric oven (no grill), washing machine, drier, and dishwasher. We have a large fridge/freezer with cold water dispenser, a bread maker, and Gaggia espresso machine (and bur coffee grinder).
*Master bedroom - one double bed with kingsize down duvet. Hanging and folding closet space.
*Spare bedroom - a desk/table with a chair and a daybed (extendable to be a double bed).
*Bathroom - the bathroom has a lovely walk-in shower (no bath!) and a large window. If you time it right, you can have a shower in the sunshine which is one of the best things ever.
*Garden - the south-facing garden is enclosed and has a lovely pond. The sound of the water feature is really lovely when you are in the garden. We have a wooden table with 6 chairs in the garden, so you can sit outside comfortably. The garden is part grass, part decking, and part paved with two steps.
The house is on a main road (set back), and although you can't hear the road inside, you can definitely hear it in the garden. The water feature helps a lot to make it less obvious, but if you mind road noise when sitting outside (and want to sit outside), this might not be the house for you.

We are located in a small cluster of 5 houses, surrounded by fields and a golf course. The closest amenities are in Bradford-on-Avon, with the closest supermarket a 3 minute drive away (or a 20 minute walk).
The house is located on the outskirts of quaint countryside market town Bradford-on-Avon, with its quintessential Bath stone cottages and lovely riverside walks. It's about a 25 minute walk through fields into Bradford-on-Avon (5 minute drive). The centre of Unesco World Heritage site Bath is a 15 minute drive, or 12 minutes by train from Bradford-on-Avon. The vibrant city of Bristol, birthplace of Banksy, is about 35 minutes by car, or 24 minutes by train - offering an absolutely amazing food scene. Onze tips voor leuke activiteiten en uitjes bij ons in de buurt
Bradford-on-Avon has a high number of independent shops, cafes, restaurants, and pubs (as well as a few supermarkets, butcher, wine shop, deli, and amazing farm shop). There are lots of other places of interest nearby, such as Longleat Safari Park (30 minutes), Stonehenge (45 minutes), outlet shopping (Clark's village 55 minutes), Glastonbury (50 minutes), Wells (42 minutes), the 29 locks at Caen Hill (20 minutes), and the White Horse at Bratton (23 minutes).
There are numerous walking routes around Bradford-on-Avon (called the Walking Wheel, which we can provide a map of), with one part of it leading right past our house. There are very many different walks you can do in the area, including along the Kennett & Avon canal (meaning it's super flat), leading all the way to Bath - and further along the Bath to Bristol cycle path. You can walk to the small hamlet of Avoncliff along the beautiful Avon river, sitting down in the lovely pub there, or continue walking to Freshford for a bite or drink in the pub there. Both places also offer direct trains back to Bradford-on-Avon, if you can't make the walk back. All these places are amazing for runs too!
You can rent bikes in Bradford-on-Avon, to explore the area by bike (especially lovely along the canal!). There is a golf course right by our house, and there are a number of places you can go horse back riding.
I do wild swimming and our location, right by the river Avon and the river Frome means there are tons of wild swimming places nearby, including Farleigh & District swimming club - believed to be the oldest river swimming club in the country.
