Beschrijving van het huis dat wij aanbieden voor ruil
The house has been recently modernised. It is on a quiet road (single track) in open countryside near the seaside town of Anstruther. It has a mature garden filled with flowers and shrubs with a stream at its foot. The house has a good-sized sitting room with a wood-burning stove and satellite TV (including Films, Sports, etc). There is a separate dining room with access to an outside seating area and modern kitchen and bathrooms. Both bedrooms, one of which is en-suite, have king-size double beds. There is a 'double' put-down bed in the porch suitable for a single person. The house is south-facing and the area is blessed with more sunshine than London according to the UK meteorological office! There is a studio in the garden suitable for artists.

Anstruther is a fishing village on the Firth of Forth and is one of 5 villages (all within 8 miles of the house) known as the East Nuek of Fife. It is an area of rolling countryside, beaches (sandy & rocky), small hills and woods that is popular with tourists and walkers and this is reflected in the shops, cafes and resturants. There are many places to eat from the excellent Peat Inn and St Monans fish restaurant to the award-winning fish and chip resturant in Anstruther. There is a vibrant artistic community exemplified by the Pittenweem Arts Festival in early July when the whole village opens its doors to exhibitors from far and wide. There are many beaches nearby and it is easy to find one that is nearly deserted. There are daily boat trips out to the Isle of May nature reserve that contains colonies of puffins and other sea birds. There are many excellent links golf courses nearby including the home to golf, at St Andrews. .

Onze tips voor leuke activiteiten en uitjes bij ons in de buurt
Walking, fishing, swimming, boat trips, bird-watching and of course golf are all activities that can be undertaken here. Boat trips to the bird sanctuary of May Island and across the Forth to North Berwick are popular. There are local museums and several interesting and historic towns and cities worthy of a day trip - St Andrews (10minutes), Edinburgh, Dundee, Stirling and Perth are all within I.5 hours drive.

We are looking for an exchange on one floor with a pool. We can exchange at short notice April to September. We sometimes travel with another elderly couple.
