The cottage is located in the centre of Hayfield village, and at the base of Kinder Scout. In 1932 around 500 walkers, mostly from Manchester, trespassed en masse and walked from Hayfield to Kinder Scout to secure access right to open country for all to enjoy forever, so walk in the footsteps of the trespassers and enjoy what others fought so hard for. Hayfield is also a perfect base to explore the Derbyshire countryside, be it on your bicycle or by car, the Hope Valley is one of the best-loved parts of the Peak District National Park, offering some of the best views and most picturesque villages in the country, and visit the superb Chatsworth Country House and gardens. There are several cafes and many pubs with good restaurants locally.
