I am a recent widower, and retired architect. My wife and I always liked to spend time "living the local life" in all parts of the world. So, I will continue to do so. I can travel anytime, any where with short notice. My interest is to be in urban locations; particularly, medium to large cities with architectural, historical, and cultural significance.
I am always!!!!! interested in Italy. I especially like any exchange for locations in Sicily, Rome, Florence, Naples or any other beautiful areas.
I am responsible, and take absolute care of other people's property, and I would expect the same in return. I do not accept any children, or pets, sorry.

Convenient, comfortable and Cosmopolitan - Unique architect's apartment furnished to please all tastes. From Art Nouveau to Mid 20th Century furnishings. Great pied-a-terre located in the geographical center of San Francisco: near all amenities and attractions.

Pacific Heights: One of the most affluent and idyllic locations in San Francisco, high on hills facing north to San Francisco Bay, and south to the rest of the city. The neighborhood has intact (1906 earthquake survivors) victorian single home architecture as well as townhouses, and mansions. High end boutiques and shopping are east and west of the apartment. The apartment is close to all locations of interest in the city. Whole Foods is two hilly blocks away. Live Jazz venues, and night life are also available on the Fillmore, and Hayes Valley. One of the things I like to do with any guests is to walk from the apartment to Sausalito, over the Golden Gate Bridge. Have lunch there, and take the ferry back. You can also bicycle there instead. There are rental bicycles at Fisherman's warf. All buses have bicycle racks. It's a great day trip.
Of course, Napa and Sonoma are a short car ride away for those who enjoy the wine tasting trails.
During summer time is cool and foggy (early morn & nights) bring your jackets. Warmest times are September and October.

Architect's apartment in 1926 vintage building high on a hill adjacent to newly renovated Lafayette Park. Its location in affluent Pac Heights is unparalleled by any other neighborhood of San Francisco. 270 degree city, park and bay views at a third floor that is equivalent to a 40th floor in a high rise tower. Original furnishings from Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Bauhaus to mid century American. High style pied-a-terre to explore the city and beyond.
Our park has two public free tennis courts, and is surrounded by stately mansions, including Danielle Steele's, and Victorian townhouses, and buildings.

We can only offer exchanges for two persons. Our apartment is not suitable for children.
Exchanges for a minimum of two to three weeks.
We only accept invitations to urban areas or locations with easy transportation.
We expect our apartment to be left in the manner that it is found (sparkling clean) You may hire a recommended cleaner if you prefer.
No shoes in the apartment are acceptable, and Luggage must not be dragged on the floor for any reason. This damages the oak floors.
Non smokers are a must. We are allergic to tobacco smell.
