David is a software developer and Julie is an architect and community volunteer. Our children are grown, but enjoy traveling with us when their busy schedules allow. Our.son Michael (32) lives in Paris where he works as a software developer, and our daughter Emily (29) is a PhD student in upstate New York. We are experienced HomeLink exchangers (7 amazing swaps: London, Cambridge and York in the U.K., Paris and Tours in France, Kilberry, Ireland and Edinburgh, Scotland) who love welcoming others into our home and helping them discover the unique opportunities found in the DC area. Short walk from our house to town center with free outdoor concerts, cafes, shops and restaurants. Nearby historic town of Leesburg with free concerts and wonderful atmosphere. We're in the heart of beautiful Virginia wine country; more than 40 wineries and 35 breweries are within a few minutes drive. All offer tastings, as well as music and food for a lovely day out. DC is an easy trip via light rail (20 minute drive to station) or car. Virginia is also full of exciting destinations: Colonial Williamsburg (3 hrs), Charlottesville and Monticello (2 hrs), Shenandoah National Park/Skyline Drive (1.5 hrs), Harpers Ferry (1 hr), Fredericksburg (1.5 hrs). World-class shopping at Leesburg Corner Outlets is 10 mins away as well!
