We are a Belgian - English couple (75-60 years old) met in the most romantic story of home exchange in 2003. We now live in England where I live my dream running a B&B (Lut's Place www. lutsplace.com)) in the beautiful 300 year old listed farm house where my husband Bruce lived most of his life. He's a tenant farmer and runs a DIY horse livery yard, so we are surrounded by horse paddocks.
We still visit Belgium often to see my three sons and granddaughter and friends. In and out our jobs, we like meeting people by travelling, Biodanza, retreats... We both like music and always have a concert to look forward to. I like to be creative in the house with flowers, I love baking, cooking.... Bruce's passion is poetry, he likes playing in his wood workshop, football and can talk about anything.

Ons huis
Beschrijving van het huis dat wij aanbieden voor ruil
The farmhouse was built in the eighteenth century and still has many original features :-beams, fireplaces, winding stairs to attic, and is surrounded by a beautiful big garden. The house where the family moved in 1951 has now been upgraded to create a modern feel without loosing the character of the old grade two listed farmhouse. The view south is of the small hamlet of South Hykeham. You can pick your designer wellies from our collection, cross the road and go walking in the countryside. A 15 minute drive brings you to the centre of the historical city of Lincoln with its castle, Roman ruins and we feel one of the most beautiful and imposing cathedrals in the world. The city offers good restaurants, shopping, museum and cinema.
London is one and half hours by train from Newark (15 minutes drive). The coast is an hours drive , the Peak District and the Yorkshire Dales are about one and half to two hours away. Cambridge, Oxford, Leeds, Sheffield, York can be visited easily by car. London is 1,30 by train from Newark. airports to fly out to European countries in 2hrs.

We are at a farm in a quite countryside with the opportunity to start walks from our doorstep. On bicycle distance from local shopping and big supermarket and 20 min drive from Lincoln, a very nice city with his imposing cathedral and lots to experience : restaurants, cafe's, cinema, shopping, theatre.... More beautiful country side, gardens, musea ...and nice towns or nature for short or longer trips.

We are only 20 min away from historical Lincoln with his imposing cathedral , recently renovated castle , the old town with lovely shops, restaurants, musea, local parks...
You can start country side walks from the doorstep or anywhere in the area. Lots of mansion houses and beautiful gardens with special events close by....
Beautiful cities like York and Cambridge are in 1-2 hrs distance, London 1.30 hrs on the train. The Peak District is my favourite nature Park for walking and other outdoor activities, visiting lovely village... an hour from the seaside...In Summertime lots of different festivals everywhere, close by Lost village.
