Spacious home ideally situated
Good public transport to Harrogate / Leeds /Skipton as well as Otley & Ilkley. Although we had a lot of rain during our stay there was plenty to do and see and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Heather & Phil home. The house is spacious with a beautiful garden. We felt comfortable and detailed information on heating / kitchen appliances etc a great help.

A wonderful holiday exchange in a beautiful part of the world. We spent two wonderful weeks in a very comfortable detached home on the outskirts of the town of Otley in Yorkshire. The town had a very nice old ambience, people were so lovely and friendly and the cafes were great!! The Yorkshire dales and the villages therein were a joy to discover whether walking, cycling or driving slowly through this magnificent landscape. We had the pleasure of meeting Heather and Phil on their return home. On our return home, it was a joy to find everything so well taken care of. We will definitely be back!!

Beschrijving van het huis dat wij aanbieden voor ruil

Our house is on the edge of the market town of Otley close to the Yorkshire Dales National Park with beautiful scenery, moorland walking, and historic buildings.

Chevin Forest Park is on the doorstep. Only a short drive or bus ride away is the vibrant city of Leeds, with shops, theatres, clubs, museums, restaurants etc. Harrogate, Haworth, York and many more places of interest are easily accessible.

Connections are good by road, rail and air. Leeds/Bradford airport is 4 miles away with cheap European flights. Manchester International airport is 30 miles. Lake District less than 2 hours by car. London and Edinburgh under 3 hours by train from Leeds.
We are not currently looking to travel long haul or for long periods, however we will consider all offers (and reply promptly).

Otley is a traditional market town with mainly independent shops. There is an excellent choice of pubs and cafés. It is situated by the river Wharfe, and lies within attractive countryside. It's in a great location with easy access to the city of Leeds in one direction and the Yorkshire Dales National Park in the other.

Otley is a market town with good local shops, cafes and pubs. ”The Courthouse” hosts films, concerts, plays, exhibitions. There are local riverside and hillside walks.
The city of Leeds 10 miles away has a great shopping centre, theatres, cinemas, museums, art galleries, restaurants, sporting venues etc etc
The Yorkshire Dales has stunning countryside. There are many historical sites within easy reach.
We can recommend many visits when we know what people are interested in.

Wat we graag willen of wat juist niet...

See below - the tick boxes for completing this part of the web site are all yes/no, but we can be flexible. We'd prefer non smokers, without pets but this is negotiable. We are willing to look after pets, but, during a longer exchange we may spend a few days away so there needs to be a backup plan. Our children are long gone so there are few toys and the house is not set up in a particularly child friendly way. However if families can cope with that they are welcome.
