Our cottage is close to the National park called "Hardangervidda", between Oslo and Bergen. We use it nearly every weekend and holidays, except when we do Home Exchange!
It has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6-8people. We do not have running water and you have to walk like 150 meter from the parking area to find the cottage. "It is really what a spanish couple wrote; "Loneliness, Wilderness, Happiness". You find fresh water in the small stream near the cottage. We have electricity though! We have a nice quiet outdoor area and use to make food outdoors if the weather is comfortable. You can go skiing either cross Country from outside the cottage make your own tracks and sometimes it is ski trails a bit futher up. You find Uvdal alpinanlegg about 15 minutes drive or Ski geilo nearly an hour drive from the parking area. Hiking is perfect, you can start from our cottage and find new trails/paths every day. You can also go from hytte to hytte and sleep there if you want. Ut.no for more information. We have a small kitchen inside our cottage with all you need to prepare a meal. We are used to Home Exchange and have done many already. Our children (19-27 years old) also make swaps by their own when you want to. They are used to the way we live when we travel and stay as guests in other peoples homes. Now we prepare for "a year off " and hope to make as many swaps as possible. We prefer to do them non simultanious, because that makes it more easy for us to prepare the cottage for your stay. So if you can host us or make a non simultanious swap in 2019-2020, we are happy to prepare the cottage for you later on. The best seson for hiking or bike in our area is from beginning of June to end september. Norseman is very popular thriatlon in Norway. They pass were you park the car to go to our cottage. To go skiing it will be best end December /January to end march. We hope to welcome you in our cottage and from august 2020 or hopefully we can welcome you in our home 100 km south of Oslo.
