MEMBERS SINCE 2011. We have travelled widely and now have children living overseas who we would like to visit while still exploring other parts of the world.

Our home is on a small holding 25 minutes drive from Christchurch and about 10 minutes drive from a large supermarket and other services. The area is rural with mostly small holdings and the views of the mountains and closeness to the hills around Christchurch make it a very desirable place and calm to stay. Within 5 minutes car drive or 15 minutes bicycle there are 5 cafes and one winery restaurant and a golf club.
Christchurch is a major entrance point to the South island and within easy access of beaches, mountains and lakes. If you are keen on the outdoors this is a very good area to base yourself in.

Major shopping malls and movie theatres are within 20 mins drive but a supermarket and butchery etc is only 10 minutes away.

It is a good area for walking but is still within easy access of the city.
The house is a large modern design building but is of mudbrick construction.

The garden is large and includes a croquet lawn, grass tennis court, 15m non heated swimming pool and a spa on the deck to recline in as you watch the sun go down on the Southern Alps.

Public transport is not easily accessed.

A second small holiday house at Arthur's Pass in the Southern alps is also availiable for non-simultaneous exchanges.It is about 2 hours from Christchurch and is small but comfortable - a real Kiwi style bach or holiday house. Skiing is about 1.5 hours from here to Mt Hutt field but you can see it from here before you leave. The beach is about 30 minutes, sailing or kayaking in Lyttelton harbour about 30 minutes and Akaroa for a French feel is 45 minutes.
