Val and I have two daughters, Cara and Cailyn. Cara has degrees from the University of Western Ontario and the University of BC and is currently teaching secondary school in Salmo, BC and living in Nelson. Cailyn graduated from Nursing at the University of British Columbia in Kelowna and is now working as an RN at Kelowna General.
We are former accountants, now retired. Val worked in the paper industry for Kruger Products and I've worked in mining, mostly for Teck Cominco, and in the golf industry for Capilano Golf and Country Club.
We are very much enjoying the freedom to travel that retirement brings!

Beschrijving van het huis dat wij aanbieden voor ruil
Our home was built in 1913. It's comfortable, friendly and unpretentious, and has been almost fully renovated over the last few years.
The main floor includes a well-appointed kitchen, large sun-filled dining room, living room with a large wood-burning fireplace, tv room, laundry and full bathroom. French doors open from the dining room to a large covered porch with views of the front garden and Burrard Inlet. The back yard includes a covered barbecue area and a patio surrounded by grape, clematis and honeysuckle vines.
The upper floor has three bedrooms and a shared bath which can be accessed directly from the master.
There us a self-contained suite in the basement with large kitchen-dining-living room, full bath, one bedroom and spacious laundry area.

We are located in Cove Cliff, which is on Vancouver's North Shore, a half mile west of the village of Deep Cove. It's a friendly, safe, walkable neighborhood where you are likely to bump into people who have lived here their whole lives. Mention you're staying in the house on Strathcona with the big porch and you will probably hear a story or two. It's heaven for outdoor activity lovers - a mountain biking mecca, great paddleboarding and kayaking, beautiful walks and hiking, great golf courses and just 90 minutes from Whistler Creekside for awesome downhill skiing.

From our house it's a one minute walk to waters edge for fantastic sight seeing, paddle boarding and kayaking. We are 15 minutes from the village of Deep Cove which has interesting cafe's, restaurants, shops and galleries, and a community theater. The Raven Pub is a 10 minute walk away. The North Shore is mountain biking mecca, and there are several great walks and hikes nearby. For golfers, we have some great daily fee courses and some world-class private courses a short drive away. For skiers, Whistler is a breathtaking 90 minute drive away, and our local mountain, Mt. Seymour, is great fun for young kids.
