We were made very welcome by Shannon and Kent. It was so nice to meet them briefly at the start of the exchange as this happens so infrequently. Their home is spacious and comfortable with everything you might need including an amazing hot tub that my son and husband enjoyed. The house is a short walk away from shops, restaurants and the harbour. We spent some time driving along the coast past Peggy's Cove and Lunenburg and the scenery is just stunning. We hope to return to Halifax soon. Thank you to all of the family for a wonderful swap.

Nuestras vacaciones han sido un sueño cumplido. Teníamos deseos de visitar Canadá desde hace tiempo y hemos tenido una gran ocasión. Shannon y familia han sido magníficos en todos los sentidos. Hemos disfrutado de su magnífica casa. La ciudad es muy interesante, hay muchas cosas para visitar, su paseo marítimo es una maravilla para dar largos paseos, las afueras son impresiontes `por su belleza, tanto las playas como su vegetación, "el baño a 14ºC es para valientes" aunque nosotros casi lo hemos conseguido. Hemos hecho varias excursiones, comido en distintos restaurantes, bebido muy buenas cervezas y deleitado con muy buenos helados, sobre todo nuestro pequeño nieto. UN VIAJE INOLVIDABLE.

Thoroughly enjoyed our exchange in Halifax at this home. Great Halifax location for exploring Halifax’s waterfront and university area. They were excellent hosts and provided us with additional great things to do. Very responsive to all our communications. House definitely larger than a couple needs so plenty of space for larger families. Wonderful back yard for enjoying warm summer nights. This was our first exchange staying in Canada and we were glad we did it.

Awesome exchange   We are looking back to a wonderful exchange. We felt “at home” in this spacious and very well equipped house in a calm, safe and very friendly neighborhood. We were always happy to come back to Shannon and Kent´s home after our different trips throughout Nova Scotia. We had time to relax but also to find out many things about Halifax (all main points of interest are reachable with a walk of up to 30 minutes or by bicycle) and the province with scenic tours to Cape Breton, Hopewell Rocks, the tidal Bore in Truro, Peggy´s Cove and to wonderful trails like Duncan´s Cove or the Salt Marsh trail. We spent a lot of evenings at Halifax waterfront. The city is constantly offering summer festivals in that area and we enjoyed “east coast lifestyle”. The support we got from Shannon and Kent´s family during our stay was simply outstanding. We look forward to keeping in touch. All the best Ruth, Thomas and Emily  

Our youngest daughter studied in Halifax for three months. When we wanted to visit her it wasn't possible for Shannon and Kent to do a simultaneous exchange because it wasn't during the schoolholidays of their children. They offered us a house of family which was fantastic. Shannon and Kent invited us for a diner in their beautiful house with a beautiful garden in a nice neighborhood. Although we didn't stay there longer than an evening we could really recommend their home. Shannon and Kent are really good hosts, gave us lot of (hiking)tips about what we could do in Halifax and the surroundings. Their children are so nice and polite. When they stayed in our house, they took really good care and left it in a good and clean condition. We hope that we will see each other again soon.
