Peaceful and still friendly
We enjoyed the beautiful peacefulness of the place: lake, river, nature all around, quiet... But we also had wonderful evenings in the pubs nearby with live music, live dancing, live singing... and very welcoming Irish inhabitants.

Our large family home overlooking Lough Derg with a fabulous lake view, is located in the beautiful lakeshore heritage village of Ballina, Co. Tipperary. The twin towns of Ballina and Killaloe are amongst Ireland's most picturesque attractions and are linked by a 13 arch bridge spanning the majestic River Shannon. Situated on the banks of the River Shannon, the twin villages of Ballina and Killaloe are amongst one of Ireland's most picturesque attractions & link the counties of Tipperary and Clare. Killaloe was in fact the capital of Ireland in 1014 under the control of the High King Brian Boru.
The village of Ballina, (pop. 1200) County Tipperary, is located in the 'mid-west' of Ireland, just 35 minutes from Shannon International Airport and 25 minutes from Limerick, Ireland's third largest city.
The village and area has all the amenities that you would expect to find in an Irish village, with a range of boutiques, wellness centres and historical sites.
The village contains a supermarket, hardware, chemist, dry cleaners, petrol stations, florist, fishing tackle shop, and much more besides, all within walking distance.
The village boasts a varied selection of places to eat, from hotels, a Chinese restaurant that also serves takeaway, a chip shop, and many fine restaurants.

Our home is centrally located and just off the motorway network, therefore very easy to reach all parts of the country. See our website (HTTP://COISLOCHA.WEEBLY.COM) for some great places to visit when in Ireland.
Ballina is centrally located for all tourist sites in the country, such as Cliffs of Moher, Connemara, the Burren, Lakes of Killarney, and the cities of Limerick, Galway, Cork and Dublin. We are also located near the Wild Atlantic Way - HTTP://WWW.IRELAND.COM/WILD-ATLANTIC-WAY/ where wonderful day trips can be had.
For golf lovers, numerous courses are available nearby. Ireland offers more golf courses per-capita then any other country in the European Union and our house is situated near many fine courses including Dromoland Castle.
