We are a recently retired couple and, as our daughters are in college, are now free to travel. We have previously done a non-simultaneous exchange with a couple in San Francisco and thoroughly enjoyed it. We have traveled extensively and enjoy experiencing new places and meeting new people.

Our house on the "Wild Atlantic Way" is a modern spacious detached house on a 0.75 acre site. It is not overlooked and enjoys an extremely quiet setting with stunning views of the sea and surrounding country side. It is only a 10 minute walk to the lovely pictureque town of Glandore containing wonderful pubs and food, sailing and swimming. We are only 1 hour from Ireland's second largest city, Cork.

The house enjoys the peacefulness of a rural setting combined with being located just 10 minutes walk to Glandore, 10 minutes drive from Rosscarbery with it's beautiful sandy beach, 15 minutes from Skibbereen famous for is art and heritage centre and 20 minutes to Clonakilty with Inchadowney nearby with its famous surfing beach. Our home is a great jumping off point to explore wonderful West Cork, world famous for fabulous blue flag beaches, historic walks and fantastic scenery. We are also just 1 hour drive from Cork Airport and 2 hours from Shannon Airport.

Onze tips voor leuke activiteiten en uitjes bij ons in de buurt
Our house is a 10 minute walk to the beautiful town of Glandore. For food, we recommend Casey's Bar in Union Hall, An Sugan in Clonakilty and The Church Restaurant in Skibbereen. The Drombeg Stone Circle a mile from our house is well worth visiting. Killarney and the Ring of Kerry is just an 1.5 hours away. You may be interested in a trip to the Skellig Islands, a World Heritage Site and was used as a Star Wars filming location. Cork City, an hours drive away, was European Capital of Culture in 2005.
