We are a retired couple (social work and teaching) who still love to explore the world. We have two children, both married, and four grandchildren. We were both born in the Netherlands, but have been in Canada a long time. Hank's Dutch is a little rusty, but I can speak and write it still fairly well. We are open to all offers in USA or Western Europe, but we are hoping for an exchange to the Netherlands for this year. The Kelowna weather is usually warm early and can be very comfortable well into September.
These are strange times but we are personally not afraid of reasonable risks. For this year (2023) we are still hoping for the Netherlands, but also open to Western Europe, the USA and Canada for August or September. We will do cat, but not dog care. Next year is wide open.

Beschrijving van het huis dat wij aanbieden voor ruil
Comfortable 2 bdrm, 2 bath bungalow. Bright living room with attached dining area. Cosy den with good sized TV. Spacious kitchen with all conveniences. Laundry room leading to the double garage. The second bedroom has a pull out queen size bed which is reasonably comfortable.
There are two outside sitting areas, the first one is covered, so good for hot days, the second one open but with umbrella if wanted.
There will be potted flowers there, so hopefully you won't mind watering them. All the grass is looked after once a week, so no worries there. There is Air Conditioning and Wifi.

Beschrijving van onze buurt en omgeving
Our home is located in a community with people over the age of 45. No children allowed unless we are home.
Kelowna is in Canada's wine valley, so there is m abundance of vineyards and wineries. It is also the "fruit land" of Canada. Vacationers like to come to the valley because it has a huge recreational lake, called Okanagan Lake, with many beaches and opportunities for water sports, fishing etc.
If you enjoy nature, British Columbia is known for its natural beauty and wilderness activities.
On Saturdays and Wednesdays there is a much loved "Farmers' Market", where everything that is sold has to be made or grown by the vendors.

Onze tips voor leuke activiteiten en uitjes bij ons in de buurt
Our house is conveniently located and in walking distance to grocery stores and other shopping, doctors, dentists, bus service etc. But this is Canada and public transportation is not what it is in Europe. We will need to exchange cars.
We also have two bicycles available for you.

Please check our exchange preferences below
If anyone has an interest in exchanging for a longer period of time (let's say 3 or 4 months) in the Netherlands at some point in time, we would be interested. Or maybe you know someone who may be interested. It is the country of our birth.
