We hadden een hele gezellige week in Leuven, mede door het mooie weer. Fijn dat jullie huis zo dicht bij het interessante centrum ligt. Opvallend vonden wij de rust in en rond het huis.

Leuk appartement binnen de ring van Leuven. Alles op loopafstand bereikbaar. Heerlijk genoten van Belgische gastvrijheid.

Emmanuel and I had the opportunity to stay 4 days at Jan's and Dominique's nice appartment in Louvain. The place is very pleasant and cosy. The kitchen is very well equiped and we found all that we needed. The appartment access is not direct from the street (a bit behind) so it is really very quiet and it also benefits from a great view to the garden underneath. We did not mind the steps to the flat nor inside the appartment as we have no specific issues. There is a pleasant small terrace to enjoy the sun (we had some!). We really appreciated Louvain which is a very nice city. We recommend the Decadenza ice cream shop which is really delicious! We had a nice walk in a park nearby and went to the Tervuren Park (20 min or so). We spend a day in Antwerpen, went to Gent and also to Michelen which was a really cute town. There are many places to visit around so you won't get bored! We can really recommend swapping with Jan and Dominique, our house was spick and span when we came back home.

It was really nice to meet Dominique and Jan, their house is really confortable and welcoming .It is situated at less than 10 mn walk to the center of the magnificient Leuven and the famous Beguinage is just at the corner of the house. We had a lot of fun visiting Bruxelles, Tervuren , Mechelen , Antwerpen , Brugge and the sea side ...realy nice places !

We had a lovely stay in Leuven and enjoyed a nice clean house with a wonderful terrace! Lots to do though its a small city, and very nice to meet Dominique and Jan.

We love very much LeWuven and Belgium. Thanks to Dominique for her wonderful soupes!!! Was exciting to meet and know them in Linate's Airport!!

very comfortable and quiet apartment, well equipped and well located (only 10 minutes walk to the "Grote Markt"). We had a wonderful 5 days break from everyday life in early autumn and really enjoyed the historic city and the excellent restaurants. Dominique and Jan are perfect home exchange partners.

Leuven ist eine kleine, aber feine Stadt-mit historischen Bauten und auch vielen neuen Gebäuden, und einer perfekten Zugverbindung nach Brüssel (mehr als 80 Verbindungen täglich) Das Gebäude ist eine spannende Mischung aus einer alten Mühle und einem interessanten Neubau mit einer schönen Wohnung auf 2 Etagen. Der große Beginenhof befindet sich genau gegenüber und die Innenstadt ist nur einige Minuten Fußweg entfernt. Alles war sehr liebevoll vorbereitet und mit ausführlichen Informationen versehen, so dass der Urlaub sofort starten konnte. Wir haben uns sehr gut erholt und bedanken uns bei den großartigen Gastgebern. Viel Freude für die nächsten Tausche wünschen Elisabeth und Monika

Leuven ist eine Fahrradstadt! Wenn man mit dem Auto anreist, empfehlen wir, das Auto gleich nach Ankunft in ein Parkhaus zu stellen. Wohnung ist sehr zentral gelegen,alles fußläufig zu erreichen, auch Bus, der zum Bahnhof fährt. Auch wir fühlten uns sehr wohl in den breiten Sesseln (!) und waren dankbar für die detaillierten Infos zur Wohnung und Stadt. Wir erlebten viel Interessantes und bekanken uns für eine schöne Woche.

A perfect home for an exchange to enjoy a historic city, easily reachable from Brussels and no car is required to explore the city and surrounding area. Jan and Dominique provide ample information about the house and Leuven which is a lively student city with many historic buildings and monuments. At all times we were received well by the neighbours we met and the people working in shops and cafes, we left with the impression of a very friendly and welcoming community.

Peaceful and quiet located between the UNESCO World Herritage Site of Groot Begijnhof and the Dijlepark the home of Dominique and Jan is a real gem. I was welcomed with a light meal upon arrival - ideal due to my late arrival. Bedroom in the duplex is below which secured a comfortable night temperature even during the heatwave where the day temperature hit unusual 36 degrees. You have this interesting and historic city for your feet with easy access to Brussels and Antwerp with public transport.

The apartment is in a very quiet area but still very close to the center so you can walk. It had everything I needed and lots of information to the house, the neighbourhood and the city.

We had such a good time in Dominique & Jans home which we found so convenient walking into beautiful Leuven. The town is lively with a great atmosphere yet the apartment is situated in an oasis of quiet. The communication with Dominique & Jan was excellent before and during our exchange. Thank you for a most memorable holiday.

We hadden een fijne tijd in Leuven, het appartement ligt in een historische omgeving, de dijlemolens en het Begijnhof. Het centrum van Leuven ligt op wandelafstand en Leuven hoeft verder geen aanbeveling, het is gewoon fantastisch.

Liebe Dominique, lieber Jan, wir haben ein wundervolles Osterwochenende bei euch verbracht. Euer Apartment ist liebevoll und sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, der Kühlschrank war mit Leckerein gefüllt (Schokoladenbier - mal was ganz anderes :) )und die wunderbaren Tipps zur Stadtentdeckung waren toll. Wir haben an jedem Tag eine andere Tour gemacht und Löwen kennen und lieben gelernt. Eine schöne Stadt und die Lage des Appartments war einfach großartig. Wir bedanken uns ganz herzlich für eure Gastfreundschaft und wünschen euch noch viele schöne Tausche. We spent a very pleasant week in Leuven. Your quiet home is very well located near the beautiful city center and ten meters from the Great Beguinage. Leuven and the surroundings are rich in history. Good continuation in your exchanges.

Après 2 tentatives annulées en 2020 pour cause de covid nous avons enfin pu réaliser notre échange. J'ai passé un séjour très agréable à Louvain chez Dominique et Jan. Leur appartement agréable et fonctionnel est idéalement situé pour découvrir la ville à pied. La communication entre nous a été facile et j'ai retrouvé ma maison impeccable à mon retour.

We had a great time at Jan and Domnique's! Dijemolens is a very special watermill-home with a huge garden and a very well equipped apartment. We totally fell in love with their comfortable TV-chairs and their friendly neighbors. There is also an organic food store belonging to the Dijemolens complex. Leuven is a very cute city full of history and a beautiful surrounding landscape. It's perfect for a laid back family vacation and Jan and and Dominique's house is the perfect place to stay. The Begijnhof, probably Leuven's most peaceful spot, is only one minute by foot. We can definitely recommend a stay at Dominique and Jan's!

We hebben genoten van onze huisruil in Leuven. Het appartement was ideaal gelegen: heel rustig en toch vlak bij het centrum.( op 5 minuten wandelafstand van het centrum). Jan en Dominique zorgden voor een warm onthaal en goede tips. Daar we Leuven al vaker bezocht hadden verkenden we de wijdere omgeving al wandelend of fietsend. Een aanrader. Ook het Afrika-museum in Tervuren loont de moeite. Er is zoveel te ontdekken in de buurt. Je logeert in een stad maar toch in een groene omgeving!

The apartment was well equipped and well located, 10 minutes from the middle of the city. It was a nice and quiet place, we felt very comfortable. Leuven has beautiful parks, many quiet streets and sights and good restaurants. We had a good time and can recommend such an exchange. Thank You very much!

How interesting is Belgium! The appartement is well situated and nearby the historic village. In the neighbourship is the wonderful Beginen court. Leuven has a lot of sightseeing objects and an interesting history. And by train you can arrive a lot of interesting places : Antwerpen, Bruxelles, Mechelen , The Africa museum in Tervuren with his wonderful public parc is worth to visit and the Fondation Folon near La Hulpe. We felt very comfortable in the house of Dominique and Jan. It is very quiet and only 10 minutes walk to the city centre. Leuven is a cosy city with many interesting places and good restaurants. With the train you can also explore Belgium quickly and very cheaply (as a senior).

Thank you Dominique and Jan for the use of your very comfortable and well-located home. We enjoyed the close proximity to the city and appreciated the way you had the fridge stocked for us with lots of nice treats. The city itself is very interesting but there are also some other nice places not too far away. We particularly enjoyed the Japanese Garden in Hasselt and the museum at Bokrijk. The Botanic Garden in Leuven is also lovely. There are lots of lovely parks and green areas around and the park just beside us had lots of noisy mating frogs which fascinated us. We also enjoyed having a beer in the Grote Markt and in other places and it is nice to be in walking distance of a restaurant for a night or two. You gave us an opportunity for an interesting and enjoyable holiday. Thanks again!

It is a great apartment in front of the historical Groot Begijnhof in Leuven. The apartment was clean en cosy and they welcomed us with delicious Belgium chocolates and Belgium Beers. There is a large communal garden and a private terrace. It is at walking distance from the historical city center. Also a good base for visiting Brussel. In the house are many terrific movies available. We really enjoyed this place in Leuven. Thanks for the exchange Jan en Dominique.

Dear Dominique and Jan Already a few weeks have passed since our visit to you in Leuven but we like to think back to this time. It was our first home exchange but certainly not our last. We felt very comfortable with you immediately and the excursions into the city were always an experience. The many beautiful cafe shops and the small shops we really liked. On New Year's Eve we were almost the only visitors, the whole city was running. Particularly impressive were the many historic buildings in the area. We like to come to Belgium again. Jan and Dominique made us feel very welcome in their nice and quiet apartment. They welcomed us with some food in the refrigerator and lots of information about helpful things to make our stay in Leuwen enjoyable as well as transport information for visits to other interesting places in Belgium. Leuwen is an interesting city with remarkable history, museums and lots of restaurants and bars and we really liked our stay there. All communication with Jan and Dominique before the exchange as well as during it was very good and responsive and they left our apartment clean and tidy. We hebben een leuke tijd gehad in Leuven. Dankzij de goede tips van Jan en Dominique hebben we in korte tijd heel veel van Leuven gezien. Hun appartement ligt tegenover het Groot Begijnhof, een schilderachtige oase van rust. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien en door de heldere informatie konden we zowel in huis als in de stad alles vinden.

We had a very nice stay in Leuven in the house of Dominique en Jan. Because of the good information we got, even with pictures, it was easy to find the entrance in the building. Leuven is a very historic city with lots of old buildings in the center. The appartment is at walkable distance from the center and we did really like to stroll around. Everything was nice and pleasant. We appreciated the " bubbels" to celebratie New Year vey much. Thanks again.

We enjoyed very much the beautiful and lively town of Leuven.The apartment of Jan and Dominique is very quiet and the view, over a big garden in joint ownership, very peaceful.The building is located just opposite the "old beguinage" and we could easily walk to visit all monuments and sights in the city. Lovely apartment, walking distance to the centre of lively Leuven and well connected by train to other Belgian cities. Historic Leuven is a university town, so there is always something happening! A beer and food festival when we were there! Fully equipped, attractive apartment, with an abundance of tourist information/tips provided. Very thoughtful hosts.

Brother Jos met us at the train station and introduced us to Jan and Dominique's very comfortable apartment. We were able to walk into central Leuven, enjoying the cafes and its very interesting history. and architecture. Brussels was nearby and we could easily visit other Belgian cities by train. We very much enjoyed our stay there.
