Beschrijving van het huis dat wij aanbieden voor ruil
Hello! My name is Lisette and my husband's name is Warren, and we love to travel. We would really like somewhere in Hawaii for April 2015 as we will be coming over for a friends 50th birthday party. Otherwise we will be happy to travel anywhere really. Tempt me with an offer - we will consider them all.
About our house : we live in a single storey cottage that we bought off my grandmother and have eventually renovated and added to. The back end of the house is about 60 years old and the front half is 15 years old. There are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two large lounge rooms and separate dining room. We also have a large outdoor entertaining area with BBQ which is perfect for those hot summer days.
We live in the town of Horsham (population 18,000) in the Wimmera district of Victoria. Horsham is a pretty place, with good shopping, restaurants, an aquatic centre (indoor and heated) and a lovely river. The river is 400 meters down the street in front of our house, with lots of great walking tracks.
We are about 300kms west of Melbourne and 500kms east of Adelaide (Horsham is on the highway between the two cities). Less than an hour's drive from Horsham and you are in the beautiful Grampians mountains. The town of Halls Gap is situated in a valley between the mountains and is beautiful. You could easily spend a few days in the Grampians sightseeing, hiking or bushwalking. There is a fabulous zoo at Halls Gap where you will see lots of Australian animals. In fact, in Halls Gap itself there are often kangaroos and emus roaming around.
A 20 minute drive to the west of Horsham is the world famous climbing mecca of Mount Arapiles. People come from all over the world to climb it as it is apparently a huge challenge. I haven't tried to climb it, but occasionally I will walk up the road from the bottom to the look out at the top, a 9km round trip and well worth the exercise!
About 250km south of Horsham is the coast and the start of the Great Ocean Road, a must see if visiting Victoria.
About 320km north of Horsham is the beautiful city of Mildura and well worth a visit. it is on the edge of 'outback' Australia.
Anyway, I hope the above information tempts lots of people to give Horsham a go. Maybe a loop between Melbourne, the Great Ocean Road and up to Horsham, then back around to Melbourne.
I hope to hear from other Homelinkers soon and I promise to reply to all queries.<br>
