We are experienced home exchangers having been to Saint-Louis, France and several exchanges in Canada, USA and Mexico and looking forward to many more!

Married couple 69 & 66 John recently retired from his mortgage/finance broking business and Leigh is a retired primary school teacher Enthusiastic world travellers recently returned from the Middle East seeking new locations and adventures. Experienced home exchangers of previous homes in Brisbane and Mount Tamborine. Keen gardeners. We moved to back to Brisbane late 2017 to be close to our two daughters and grandchildren. Leigh is an avid reader and walker. We both love wildlife photography.... just aren't real flash at it.
We have missed the opportunity to home swap for a couple of years and would dearly love the opportunity to do it more in the future.

Fully detached single story house in suburban Brisbane with solar heated pool and garden; Hidden from view of all neighbours due to positioning and trees; Easy access to Brisbane International Airport; Public transport to shopping mall and city nearby. CBD within 20 minutes drive from house. Fully renovated in the past few years so it is all shiny and new for exchangees. Great place to relax after big days of sight-seeing and touring.
The house is best suited to one family since bedrooms 2 & 3 are small.
We would arrange our own travels if a non-simultaneous exchange was proposed so the house is unoccupied during your stay.

Capital city of Queensland, Brisbane offers all that you could expect from a large metropolitan city. Neighbourhood shops within easy bike ride. Quiet suburban neighbourhood 20 minutes drive from CBD and 10 minutes to seaside suburbs Wynnum & Manly. Easy access to international and domestic airport via the Gateway motorway. Parks, bushland, canoe trail nearby. The photos of birds and koalas are from “Dairy Swamp” where we walk our dog most days. Our daughters live nearby to assist as required

Onze tips voor leuke activiteiten en uitjes bij ons in de buurt

Because our area is a premier Australian tourist destination, there are numerous attractions and activities all within an hour of our home. These include the famous Gold Coast with its pristine beaches, surfing spots and theme parks. Above the Gold Coast is Mount Tamborine (our previous exchange home) which is part of the ancient Mt Warning volcano caldera with its rainforest environment, national parks and home to a wide range of exotic flora and fauna. Two hours north is Queensland's other major beach area, the Sunshine Coast. West of Brisbane you can find the iconic Australian bush. The further you go, the more isolated it gets.

We are looking for UK/Ireland/Europe swaps in 2nd half of 2025 and are open to other offers.
In the spirit of HomeLink exchanges we would seek to have our home left in the same condition that you will find it. We will leave a comprehensive folder of tourist attractions, activities and maps for your use.
Our 2016 Toyota Prado is available for simultaneous exchanges. We will use the Prado during non-simultaneous exchanges and have a Commodore ute available to exchangees - which is suitable for a couple only. We understand that significant kilometres will be accumulated on our vehicle while visiting Australia. However it is suggested that very long road trips are undertaken with a hire car. Likewise, we would not take long trips in your car.
