The Villages is an 'Active Adult' golf cart community with a wide range of facilities available to residents. Facilities are almost entirely adult only so it is not a suitable place for children. Almost every activity you can think of goes on in The Villages so there is always something to do. The area consists of a collection of neighbourhoods where the residents live and three village squares: Sumter Landing, Spanish Village and Brownwood. Each has been built with it's own theme.

Residents get free access to most activities on offer, including: golf (more than 40 9-hole executive courses), tennis, swimming (there are a lot of pools to choose from, including leisure and sports pools), pickle ball and bocce ball, as well as a huge range of indoor activities such as pool/billiards, table tennis, bridge, board games. All activities have organised groups which you are free to join or you can arrange your own times. A few activities require extra payment to use, such as the Championship Golf Courses and the indoor gym facilities. Each Championship course is linked to a Country Club which offers a bar and a fine dining restaurant as part of the facilities.

Note that The Villages covers a large area so a car is necessary to get around and is offered as part of the exchange as we do not own a golf cart. Golf carts are available for hire should you wish to get around this way instead.
