Not far away from many shops and within walking distance from the center. Bristol is a very nice place and also a perfect starting point to go, like we did, to Cardiff, Stonehenge, Salisbury, Bath... The weather was benevolent, so we were able to enjoy our vacation.

Read More...We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sue's home in Bristol. Sue made a very welcoming meal for us upon arrival, which she shared with us, as we did not have a simultaneous exchange. She went out of her way to find out activities we could do around Xmas with our grandchildren, whom we were in Somerset to visit for Xmas 2016. Sue's home is lovely and quiet and comfortable and more spacious that you might think from the outside. It is in a fabulous location in Southville, a few steps from North Road, where you will find lovely pubs and restaurants. I recommend "The Lounge Cafe" for meals and they do great breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Another wonderful thing about the location of Sue's home is that it is just 15 minutes walk from the centre of Bristol, we didn't have to use the car while we were staying there and Sue kindly let us have visitors' passes each day, so we did not incur any parking charge for the whole of our stay! When we left Sue's home, we felt we were leaving a friend and I wish her and her lovely daughter Leyla every good wish with their future exchanges. Warm regards. Ger and John

Read More...Our family really enjoy our stay at Sue's house. She was easy to communicate with before and during the exchange. The house has four bedrooms, a really cosy living room where you can relax after a day visiting the city or the neighbourhood watching interesting dvd. The garden is beautiful and there is rasberries, straberries that Sue let us pick and eat the time we were there. All the neighbours are really welcoming and helpful. Walking to the city centre is a 30 minutes walk with the young children (you can also take a bus) and there is free museum to visit, we also add Shaun the sheep tour and a big park just 5 minutes walk from the house where there is a lot of outdoor games for children. We were lucky to have the upfest (art street festival) taking place during our stay where children can do painting activities and tags. I personally enjoy learning about the history of Bristol, the coal mines, the architecture of the city and you can dicover more visiting M Shed museum.
