Our home is the former garden house of the local manor. In stands in what used to be a private park and the access road is a quiet cul de sac. There is loads of space both inside and outside. We have a large living room, separate dining and play rooms as well as large living kitchen equipped with cast iron gas burner (AGA) that keeps the house nice and warm even when it is wet and cold outside. There are also 5 bedrooms and an annex which is used as an office at the moment. The garden has about 5 acres and we have paddocks and a riding school. There is also a chicken pen and we currently have 4 chicken (no need to look after them during an exchange). For the children there are swings and a large trampoline.

We live at the edge of a small picturesque village between the towns of Dorking and Leatherhead. The village has a church, a lovely pub and a school. Box Hill which featured in the 2012 Olympic road cycle race is at out door step and the area is very popular with cyclists both road and MTB. The bus stops at the end of the drive and the train is 5 minutes by bike which take about 45 minutes into London. Our village is located in the Surrey Hills an area of outstanding natural beauty - great for those that like the outdoors and enjoy the extra space and some piece and quiet. In the Surrey Hills there are many small villages, tucked away with loads of charm. Gatwick and Heathrow airport is 30 minutes away which is very convenient although the time to Heathrow varies in rush hour. We are about 20-25 miles from London and a car will be needed as this is a rural area.

We have 2 horses, 2 dogs and 4 chickens - animals are welcome but there is no obligation to look after these. :)
