We retired to this beautiful part of Wales from London although it has always been part of our lives as a holiday destination. We love travelling and have had some wonderful holidays being part of Homelink International. It has taken us to Canada, Corsica, Spain, France, The Netherlands and we have also welcomed members to housesit for us when we have travelled independently. We now prefer non-flight destinations and have decided to explore the UK more and places more accessible by train.

We loved staying at Diane and Jamal's place it is really beautiful. We loved the fact it is so peaceful. It is a great base if you love walking, there are many beautiful walks right on your doorstep. Dianne and Jamal made us feel really welcome, their place is warm and cosy, we had a wonderful holiday. It is a truly authentic Welsh cottage, deep in the countryside. Highly recommended!

400ft above sea level in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, our 300 year-old detached farmhouse enjoys a dramatic backdrop of mountains and spectacular views over Caernarfon Bay (1 mile to beach) along its quiet country lane. Being fully modernised, the house offers not only peace and seclusion, but is also close to the rugged splendour of the Snowdonia National Park, fine sandy beaches, and stunning mountain walks. Caernarfon Castle 14 miles, Nefyn Links Golf Course 8 miles, Pwllheli International Marina and Town 8 miles.

We are on a 3 mile single track lane traversing the Yr Eifl Mountain. There are spectacular views over Caernarfon bay from the lane. Our neighbours along the lane (5) are all known to us and are helpful and friendly. The village of Trefor has a well stocked shop. The towns of Pwllheli and Caernarfon are close by and easily accessed by road or bus.

Våre tips til steder å gå og ting å gjøre mens du bor i vårt hjem

We are on the Welsh coastal footpath and there are some fabulous hikes straight out of the house. We are 15 miles from Caernarfon which has it's famous castle and other cultural attractions ... plus access over the Menai Straits to Anglesey. We have at least 10 beaches around us here on the Llyn Peninsula and a challenging links golf course at Nefyn (8 miles). The beach pub at Nefyn is famous and there are some good restaurants nearby . There are cafes aplenty and shopping is good in Pwllheli and Abersoch although geared mostly to beach life and casual wear (full listings in our housebook).

We have two lovely cats that need feeding but other than that they are free to come and go via a cat flat. We have an open stream and very large pond so families must be personally responsible for themselves and the supervision of their children in and around these areas.
