Bovey Tracey is a small, friendly semi-rural town on the edge of Dartmoor, and our house is on the edge of town, in a quiet residential location on a farm lane. It is about a 15 minute walk to the shops and local amenities. Bovey has a good selection of food shops, including 2 small supermarkets, a deli, a butchers, a greengrocers, Post Office, a pharmacy and doctors, and is home to the Devon Guild of Craftsmen. There are 3 pubs in town, as well as numerous cafes and tearooms serving light lunches and Devon cream teas! During the summer an outdoor swimming pool is open, and there are also tennis courts, two play parks, cycle paths and very easy access to the wealth of tourist attractions that Devon has to offer. Walking and outdoor activities abound, with Dartmoor a 5 minute drive away. The National Trust estate of Parke can be accessed straight from the house, and offers lots of pretty walks along the river and a super café. Bovey is well placed within Devon to explore the whole area
