We are a family of 5 with 3 boys - one is now grown up and living away from home, one at College and one still in Secondary School. We love to travel as much as possible and have been exchanging our home in West Cork since 2009 with families from Colorado, Ireland, Spain, France, Denmark, Germany, Belgium and Scotland. We hope to do lots more exchanging - it's a marvellous way to see different places, meet other people and experience other cultures and ways of life.

our stay In Castletownbere was a total success !.Cora's house was beautiful and situated in a wonderful environment. As Cora hadn't been able to leave us awelcome meal when we arrived ( because it's their secondary house ) she left a delicious meal for us when we got back home . We recommend Cora's place a hundred per cent!! Notre sejour à Castletownbere a été une parfaite réussite !La maison de Cora est tres belle et surtout situeée dans un magifique environement .Comme Cora n'avait pas pu nous laisser un repas à notre arrivée ( parcequ' ils habitent Dublin et que cette maison est leur residence secondaire ) elle nous a laissé undelicieux repas pour notre retour .Nous recommandons un echange avec Cora à 100%!!

Jim and I spent a wonderful 2 weeks in Cora and Michael's spacious and comfortable holiday home. We were joined, for the second week, by our son and daughter and their partners. It was just a short drive into town where there was a very good Supervalu supermarket and lots of other food outlets. The Chef's Table is particularly good for homemade pies etc and the 2 health food shops had lots of treats too. The area is a delight for walkers and there is no shortage of places to go. We returned home where everything was as it should be. We appreciated the gift left for us. Thank you Cora and Michael!

What a wonderful time we had in Castletownbere! This home has a stunning views from every window. We visited the copper mine and cafe in Allihies, Dursey Island cablecar (not operating that day), drove the Beara Way visiting Eyeries and Garnish. The Buddist Centre has beautiful gardens and a great cafe. Would recommend the toasted special at McCarthy's Bar, and if you like fresh fish, make a trip to Castletownbere. Just a short stroll up the road, our kids went pony trekking at Lios Lara Riding Stables. Annie and Julie are just wonderful with children and ponies. Phone first to avoid disappointment. Returned home from West Cork with great memories we'll treasure. We would definitely recommend an exchange at this beautiful second home. Thanks Cora & Michael! Joan, Sean & family (Co. 'Domhain Eile' is Gaelic for 'Another World' and that's the description that best fits the beautiful Beara Peninsula.

We are experienced exchangers ( 20 + so far) and love to travel. For 2022 we are open to all offers. We can offer our place for 2 weeks or more and non-simultaneously if this assists.

We are open to all suggestions as to locations ( Ireland, Europe or further afield ).

"Domhain Eile" is a luxury home on the beautiful Beara Penninsula. The house is very comfortable and well equipped , tastefully furnished , of contemporary West Cork design and located on it's own site over looking Bere Island. The house is located on the Beara Way Walking route. The most remarkable thing about our house is the panoramic views enjoyed of Bere Island, Bantry Bay and the Atlantic . The view has to be experienced to be fully appreciated

Our house is located 1.5 miles outside the fishing port of Castletownbere, a lively,colourful town with lots of restaurants. The Beara Penninsula ( " Beara" ) is a rugged, unspoilt part of Ireland with great natural beauty and it starts right outside our door Our house is on the Beara Way Cycling route on a quiet mountain road. There are a number of stunning walks just outside our gate. Local people are very friendly and welcoming . Seafood chowder or smoked salmon on fresh brown bread are a local favourite. There's a well stocked Supermarket in the town with delicacies available locally. The town has 2 lovely Health Food Shops. The town has plenty of pubs to include the famous MacCarthy's bar, a quintessential Irish pub with grocery . There's lots of other quaint , traditional pubs on Beara in Eyeries, Allihies, Bantry, Kenmare and Glengarriff. We fell in love with Beara - we hope you will too.

Bere Island can be reached by a short Ferry ride - Ardnakinna Lighthouse, the village of Rerrin, Martello towers and a walkers heaven
Glengariff , with it's own micro climate is internationally known . Visit Garnish Island with its Italian gardens.
Bantry is a charming town - visit Bantry House and Gardens. Glengarriff another lovely town - ferry to Italianate Gardens on Garinish island.
West Cork Sailing centre in Ardrigole
Boat rides
Beara is a walkers paradise - the Beara Way and Walking route is full of breathtaking scenery
The Healy Pass is one of the best drives in Ireland.
