We had a fantastic stay in Portmarnock. Nigel and Sarah's home was a beautiful base from which to explore the area. A short walk from an incredible beach, in a beautifully well-kept and quiet residential area with loads to do nearby. We had a great Easter break exploring all that Dublin has to offer - the city is very easy to reach just a short bus or train ride away. We also explored beautiful Malahide castle, and great local cafes and restaurants, and enjoyed eating fish and chips by the sea. But it was hard to drag ourselves away from our sunny home-from-home, the relaxing huge open plan kitchen, sitting in the sunshine on the deck outside, cosy fire in the living room for the evenings, playing board games and reading a selection of all their brilliant books. We had a super stay in Sarah & Nigel’s home. The house is beautiful and was very comfortable and in a great location. We walked to the beach, walked to Malahide, shopped in the supermarket around the corner. We took the train to Dublin City centre and visited museums and galleries. Our hosts had a delicious meal ready for us and treats too. Communication was excellent and Sarah was always available to answer any questions we had. Overall, it was the perfect stay for us.

Thanks Sarah and Nigel for a lovely stay in a truly wonderful home. We all loved hanging out in the two large living areas on the ground floor. The fire place was super comfy and the large sliding doors looking south were such a treat. We also loved how close the house was to Malahide - a really love Dublin village. We also visited Malahide House which is a gorgeous spot with a great playground and cafe. The seaside is only a 1km walk away and the views from there on to the Irish Sea are really wonderful.

Dear Carrolls, thank you for the great exchange! Your home was perfect for us- the kids loved the trampoline and the marble run and we enjoyed good reading time at the fireplace. The location is great- be it for a short walk collecting mussels on the beach or trips to Dublin, Howth, Glendalough, Kilkenny… Thank you for all your support making us feel at home right away!

We have just returned from a lovely Easter break with our two boys aged 13 & 9 to Sarah & Nigel's modern, stylish, family home near the beach North of Dublin. It could not have been better- both were very proactive & friendly in their communication, providing lots of super-helpful local recommendations & knowledge. It is a 20min journey into central Dublin by train & we enjoyed a guided bike tour, the Guinness Storehouse experience, EPIC museum of Irish Emigration & the Windmill Lane Recording Studios. Closer to home, we were able to borrow the Carrolls' bikes & cycled to Howth just along the coast for amazing freshly caught fish & chips & looked at all the trawlers, also posh Malahide & its castle for boutiques & the amazing Avoca cafe & store. We enjoyed superb walks along the huge beach just 5 mins walk from their house. They left us a delicious lamb tagline & gifts on arrival & there were plenty of places within the home to relax & read a few of the many interesting books in their home. All-in-all an excellent exchange- thanks!

We had an amazing Easter holiday at Sarah & Nigel's home with it's large contemporary open plan living, designer interior and sheletered sunny garden. Set in a quiet neighbourhood it's just minutes walk from the gorgeous Velvet Strand Beach, very near upscale Malahide and easy walking / cycling / bus routes to Howth with it's stunning marina. It was also very well connected for bus routes and dublin area trains so that we were right at the heart of the City with no fuss and in 20 minutes. Ours kids loved all the toys, books etc and especially the trampoline in the garden. Sarah was a joy to communicate with and had left lots of information for local eateries, visitor attractions etc. Sarah and her family treated our home with utmost respect and it was clean and tidy when we returned. We have just returned from a relaxing few days after Christmas at Sarah and Nigel's home in Portmarnock. The area is walking distance to everything but so quiet. A lovely bright open plan kitchen/ living was ideal for our family of 5. The children loved plane watching from the kitchen and enjoyed chilling with toys, board games. Nice walks nearby at Paddy's hill, Portmarnock beach, Malahide Castle and we spent a lovely evening dining and exploring Howth. Sarah and Nigel were a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend this as a swap in a lovely part of Dublin.

We had a relaxing week in Nigel/Sarah's stylish comfortable cosy home, to sit out on the decking in the early morning sun was a wonderful surprise. Portmarnock's long sandy beach was a few minutes away and Dublin city centre a short train or bus journey. Tayto Park and Dublin Zoo are so exciting for young children. We would highly recommend their house and its location for a holiday in Ireland

We spent a great few days in Sarah and Nigel's lovely home which is in such a great location. So close to the fabulous Portmarnock Beach, close to the shops and public transport on the doorstep. Lots of toys in the house for the little ones, trampoline and a fun swing out the front! Really comfy home for relaxing in! Sarah was great to communicate with, giving us lots of ideas of places to see and good spots to eat in. We really enjoyed Malahide Castle and spent a lovely day in the city which is so easy to get to with public transport. We really enjoyed our stay in Portmarnock.

Sarah and Nigel's home is in a lovely spot in Dublin within only 5 minutes to the beach. The living area is bright and spacious with ample space outside for dining and for kids to play. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home.

A wonderful home in a superb location, nestled between Portmarnock and Malahide. Sarah & Nigel were informative & welcoming and offered lots of suggestions for entertainment, eating out etc which enhanced the stay. Lots of great toys indoors and outdoors to keep the little ones entertained and a library of books! Highly recommend.

A great experience for our first exchange! We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Dublin & felt very welcome & at home in Nigel and Sarah’s lovely relaxed house. The children had lots of fun on the big trampoline & building Lego. There is much to do & see in the area & we loved the scenic coastal walk between Portmarnock & Malahide. We enjoyed spending time at beautiful Malahide Castle & visiting the seaside towns of Howth & Skerries. Ardgillan Demesne & Gardens are stunning & definitely worth a visit. Dublin city centre is easily accessible by train or bus. We would certainly recommend Nigel and Sarah’s home for a trip to Dublin!

Thanks Sarah & Nigel for a wonderful repeat visit to your beautiful home in Dublin. Malahide/Portmarnock is a beautiful area to stroll around. Lots of lovely cafes and restaurants. We visited the Greedy Goose for an early bird menu (make sure to book ahead). The playground in Malahide Castle is always a hit with our children, followed by tasty treats in Avoca cafe. We also visited Imaginosity in south Dublin and Fort Lucan (big slides and large playground). There are so many interesting places to visit in Dublin, you just won't get it all in. Thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend in Portmarnock. Sarah & Nigel's home is very cool and beautifully furnished making it a very comfortable stay. There's so much to do within a short distance from their home e.g. beaches, cafes/restaurants in Malahide village and attractions such as Malahide Castle and a magnificent playground. We took in the Skerries St. Patrick's Day parade as the huge one in city would be overwhelming for our small children. They were delighted with it. The trip to Funtasia in Drogheda was very worthwhile and only 35mins away. There was a treasure trove of toys in their home which was perfect as our children are similar ages. Thanks Sarah & Nigel for all your helpful suggestions, it helped make our break one to remember. There's plenty left to see, so hopefully we'll be back again. Thanks again. Joan & Sean

Sarah, Nigel and their two children were wonderful exchange partners ! We really felt at home. Their house is very comfortable, well decorated, quiet, next to the sea and next to Dublin. Next to everything ! We went to fascinating Dublin, beautiful Howth, very interesting places like Newgrange and its tumulus, Malahide castle... So much to see ! They gave us a lot of advices and they made always sure that we enjoy our stay. A real wonderful family in a real wonderful place in the world !
