Quiet, beautiful and spacious ground floor flat in historic Blackheath, 100 metres from the World Heritage Site of Blackheath Common, and a short walk from Queen Anne's House, The Ranger's House, Royal Greenwich Park and the Royal Observatory. We are near the National Maritime Museum, the Naval College and Trinity and Laban School of Music and Dance, the Painted Chapel, the Cutty Sark, the Fan Museum and beautiful historic Greenwich. The flat is a 12 minute walk to the Lewisham transport hub, with frequent trains to Victoria, London Bridge or Cannon Street, and with very frequent DLR rail services to Canary Wharf and Bank (the City of London). There is a regular Uber boat service from Greenwich to Westminster along the river.

We have a large bedroom with French windows opening on to the garden. A sitting room and library with a piano, is of equal size. Both have large windows, high ceilings with ornate plaster mouldings, and marble fireplaces. There is a small single bedroom suitable for one guest or a child, with a door to the garden. The flat is furnished comfortably but durably with antiques and oil paintings, but it is equipped with modern conveniences (washer, clothes dryer, dishwasher). There are bluetooth speakers in the three main rooms, cd player , turntable and unlimited broadband at good speed for your devices. If you drive in London we will need your information in advance to purchase a parking permit for your stay. We have a small dog, but we can arrange for him to stay with a dog-sitter that he loves for stays of up to one week, when exchangers cannot manage to look after him. For stays over three weeks we might bring him on a flight.

There is one small but functional bathroom, with white painted walls and floorboards, a bathtub and shower.

The kitchen has a farmhouse table seating six, a double oven, a 5 ring gas stove, and a wood-burning kitchen stove. (We do not have a microwave.)

Our flat is pleasant, roomy and feels like it is in countryside, with complete privacy once inside the front door. The garden is contained by an ivy-covered stone bank to the East and shaded by Black Poplar, False Acacia (Robinia), Mimosa, Holly, Bay and Lime trees, and has a small paved terrace with garden furniture suitable for dining al fresco. There is a small cellar for storage of luggage, etc.
